Is Rogaine and Minoxidil the same thing?

Wondering if the active ingredient in Rogaine is Minoxidil?

Because I bought the COSTCO (Kirkland brand) of

Minoxidil ( 5% extra strength) for my husband.

After reading the insert it illustrates that it should be used on what they call the "vertex" of the scalp ( basically the crown of the head)

the problem is ...

My husbands hair loss is around the front of the hairline from the forehead up on either side like a V.

I'm wondering if this kind of Hair regrowth treatment will work for him.

When I looked up Rogaine online it doesn't specify an area on the head like the Minoxidil does...

any ideas

suggestions

experiance?

Rogaine (Minoxidil) medication works effectively for both men and women. With Minoxidil as its active ingredient, Rogaine is one of the most popular hair loss treatments available in the market for use.

This FDA endorsed hair loss treatment for both men and women is available in the strength of 2% and 5% Minoxidil. While 2% of Minoxidil is suggested for use by either of the gender, but 5% of this medication is meant for usage specifically by men. Speak with your doctor to well-acquaint your self about the appropriate usage directions, and whether it is suitable for you or not.
