Treatment for hormonal imbalance?

Hormone Imbalance

Hormones have a profound effect on your everyday health and well-being. Although present in only tiny amounts, hormones act on every cell of your body. Hormones have individual affects, but also interact with each other to produce dramatic effects in the body. Because of these interactions, they are able to trigger multiple body systems.

Types of Hormone Imbalance

There are a number of common symptoms associated with hormone imbalance(s):

Female hormone imbalance

The ovaries produce many hormones. Chief among them are estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. The ovarian hormones estrogen and progesterone interact to coordinate a woman閳ユ獨 menstrual cycle during her reproductive years. The brain produces the hormones follicle stimulating hormones (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) which trigger hormone production from the ovaries. When any of the hormones coming from the brain or the ovaries are imbalanced, symptoms may occur. Imbalances are most common in puberty and menopause, but imbalances can happen at any age. Several conditions are well known to be associated with hormonal imbalance including: polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, breast disease, and menstrual irregularities.

Symptoms of female hormone imbalance (in alphabetical order)

Acne or oily skin

Bloating

Bone loss

Decreased fertility

Depression

Excess facial and body hair

Hot flashes

Heavy or painful periods

Irregular periods

Irritability

Loss of muscle mass

Loss of scalp hair

Low libido

Memory lapses

Mood swings

Nervousness

Night sweats

Poor concentration

Sleep disturbances

Tender or fibrocystic breasts

Urinary incontinence

Vaginal dryness

Weight gain

Treatment for hormonal imbalance?

I dont know whch type of hormone imbalace you suffer from, so will go with the most common one. Usually there is an excess of estrogen to progesterone, especially in the latter half of the cycle.

A simple way to help this, is natural progesterone cream. used after ovulation.

The reason that the combined pill is prescribed for hormone imbalance is not to cure the problem but to mask it.

Because the pill stops ovulation, a woman will not release the same amount of hormone as if she did ovulate.

Also the pill replaces natural hormones, which rise and fall during the month, with a constant level of artificial hormones.

This is why it is very hard to find a pill which suits you. It is practically impossible to duplicate your own natural hormone rythym with artificial hormones.

Natural progesterone cream is far more beneficial and easily tolerated than any of the combined pills. And of course it has no bad or dangerous side effects.Make sure that the cream you get is usp progesterone. This means that it is identical to the progesterone your own body produces.

Beow is just one web site of many where you can buy natural progesterone cream.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

She has large black scabs due to a loss of fur. We have a German Shepherd too so is it his fault? The scabs are getting worse and are really ugly! We went to the vet and he didn't know what it was. She losing hair. She is young. I'm worreied!

What is it? Cause and treatment

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

Use some fungicide on it, and demand the vet run a thyroid test. Pugs have major health issues within the breed at this time. I wouldn't suggest people buy them. They are wonderful sweet little dogs, but their health has plummeted in the last twenty years.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

It may be allergies. It sounds like she has "hot spots." I suggest going back to the vet and having them run a complete work up for allergies. Pugs a prone to having them and this will let you know what it may be and how to deal wih it. It could be anything from a food allergy, to house hold or even an allergy to dogs.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

It's possibly a flea allergy, a food allergy, or mange. Don;t be scared by the mange thought...Demodex isn't contagious to humans, is common and starts arounf the dogs face usually, base of tail and front legs. Does that sound about right? Could be a food allergy...I'd take him to the Vet, they can do a scraping to determine the cause...a change in diet and medicated baths could be in order. Lastly, if he has fleas, they could be bugging him to no end...Frontline and medicated baths would help...if I were you, I'd google images for mange on pugs, flea allergies and skin allergies...see if any of them look familiar...

Hope that helps...

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

The vet didn't know what it was and didn't attempt to treat it in any way? I'd go see another doctor. He should have at least tried a steroid shot or some pills for allergies.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

Well, in addition to medication and anything your vet finds, try switching to a really good food... find one that has NO grains or corn in it (oats are ok).

Purina, Pedigree, Science Diet, Alpo, Beneful are not what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, it is inexpensive to use poor quality ingredients, so the food isn't a good quality and they use things like corn and grains that do tend to cause skin/allergy problems in dogs (which may be what is going on with your pug)...

http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_...

Look under the 4, 5, or 6 star foods. They are made with ingredients that are just a better quality. We use Natural Balance Duck and Potatoe, grain free allergy formula...

Hopefully this helps.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

There is a wide variety of things that could be affecting your Pug - ranging from mange to flea bites. The only way to be sure is to take your little Pug to the vet. The vet should be able to determine whether it could be allergies, mange, demodex mange, hot spots, or whatever it could be. It sounds like you may need to find a different vet.

It's rather difficult to find websites that have pictures of what mange looks like ... but I tried.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

Vets never investigate diets, however if they suggest a change of diet it is always something which they sell.

My dog did not have a skin problem, however she had other issues, consequently I have done a lot of research on diets.

Apparently the experts are now convinced that grain causes skin problems, digestive problems, diarrhoea and anal gland problems. The problems that grain causes are too numerous to list. I now give my dog a food that is based on fish and uses beet pulp as fibre.

Again a quote from the experts, they say that as well as grain we should exclude anything remotely connect to beef should be excluded together with dairy food. I now buy a product called Fish4dogs and her problems are long gone. Investigate the problems which are caused by including grain in your dog food and change their diets.

Allergies, maybe hot spots. You can get stuff to put on them at a pet store or even walmart

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

My friend was just diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I want to make her a special gift. Someone has already made a blanket. Her treatment has a low risk of hair loss, so she won't need a blanket. Each treatment lasts five hours. She loves dogs, big time. What is a creative gift I can make her?

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

make her a gift basket of reading materials. she's probably going to be resting after the chemo sessions, and would need stuff to do (like reading). go to a discount bookstore or a dollar store for cheap books.

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

Perhaps some dog posters when she wakes from a sleep.

And something very soft, in the canine theme as well.

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

She needs to relax and rest. You can give her some Japanese hot spring powder that she can pour into water when she takes a bath. It's very soothing.

Maybe she is too weak to take care of a dog,but you can promise her after she recovers, you will give her a cute puppy.

amo's idea is good,too.

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

I would make her a video with everyone who loves, likes her wishing her well telling her jokes etc. Tapping things she may miss like parties etc.. and give them to her so as she can watch them at her leisure and always be remembered that she is loved you could do dairies for her

Donkey continued ?

The vet is still unsure of the reason for hair loss on the donk. I did go ahead and worm him and then delouse him with one treatment. Its been snowing here, so haven't been able to do more, will try tonight hopefully.

Has anyone had lice problems and how long did it take before you noticed improvement with hair growing back?

How many treatments of the dusting stuff did you use? The jar isn't really specific for how often you should treat them or if its a one time thing.

Donkey continued ?

I had an outbreak of ringworm a few years ago. Everyone got a few bald patches which cleared up quickly after dabbing with a bit of OTC anti-fungal cream I had on hand... except poor George, whom I believe STILL has compromised immunities from his sepsis as a newborn.

I must have bathed him a dozen times in antifungal shampoo, and I must have doused him with gallons of the solution from the vet, as well as SEVERAL tubes of AF cream for his face.

He looked like those hairless cats. My poor, hypoallergenic horse.

Have they ruled out fungus? I've missed the original question somehow.

Donkey continued ?

Didn't see the other post, but just read up on lice all over the net because I'm the one who checked out the Tyger Spotted jack who was full of lice.

Basically, the U of Nebraska had the best info online.

It said to do the treatments every two weeks to take care of the larvae. Also to treat with spray the entire area of the environment. So if it was in a stall, strip and spray everywhere.

I got the idea that three treatments should do it if you kept away reinfestation. The first two were absolute, the third for good measure.

Donkey continued ?

Apparently, what works on a horse, doesn't seem to work on a donk, but I understand that if you have a warm enough day that you can wet down all the winter woolies, one application of Asuntol should do the trick. Here is a link to a website that has it, although it doesn't mention donkeys, I know that lots of people use it on them and it works. Good luck.

http://www.vetcontact.com/en/art.php?a=5...

Donkey continued ?

My vet said two... I did notice a difference in him itching and rubbing after the second dusting (two weeks apart).

We're where it's cold as hell too, I'm snowed under! :)

Donkey continued ?

Mule it took about a month to see a good reaction to my horses treatment(about every week and a half i would apply more)he slowly started to stop itching himself on everything around him including me and took about 6 weeks before his hair started to come in good.

I sell Lace front wigs in chicago I need inexpensive marketing ideas?

I have had extensive training in lace front wigs. I live in the city of Chicago. I carry premium Indian Remy human hair at affordable prices, I know that lace front wigs are great for people with hair loss due to alopecia, cancer treatments and old age. I also know they are popular among females wanting that diva celebrity look. How can I market to people wanting a chicago lace front wig !

I sell Lace front wigs in chicago I need inexpensive marketing ideas?

I would start by advertising on craigslist (free), and you maybe want to consider looking up some of the cancer treatment centers in your area, and talking to some of the doctors. Some may let you advertise, or leave flyers (cheap!) in their offices, as many of their patients may not even know where to turn to purchase good wigs.

Good luck!

Try Julian of blackhairplanet.com he's a pretty good marketing person. I think he did 2 sites in chicago. yourlacewigs.com and chicagolacefrontwigs.com

What is canine Chronic hypersensitivity dermatitis and what treatments are available?

My dog, Lady keeps having recurring outbreaks. The diagnosis was made by a lab from samples taken from the vet. Treatments with Prednisone 10mg have given some relief. After treatment Lady may stay cleared up for a couple of weeks but soon has a relapse. Of course with the treatments of Prednisone she inflates like a basketball and it causes her to be unable to control her bowel and bladder. Hair loss, and itching are prevalent prior to treatment. She has been on this current treatment at least 3 times but continues to have outbreaks.

What is canine Chronic hypersensitivity dermatitis and what treatments are available?

Skin conditions in dogs can be a real bear to combat. There are literally hundreds of factors that can contribute to generally itchy or unhealthy skin - things eaten, things breathed in, things layed upon... it's a very frustrating problem, and I understand your desperation with your dog's condition, as one of my greyhounds suffer some of the same problems.

This condition is often referred to as "atopy". In short, it's a predisposition to become allergic to normally innocuous substances, like pollens, molds, dust mites and other environmental allergens. It's estimated that only 3-12% of dogs have this condition.

I'm assuming the diagnosis was made via skin biospy performed at your vet's office. It's unusual that the lab or your vet wouldn't then try to identify the irritating agent more in depth - often times they run a series of allergy tests to determine what steps should be taken to avoid contact with said irritants. The condition is rarely in remission and cannot be cured; it's simply a matter of maintaining as healthy a state as possible.

Prednisone is the most common used form of controlling the discomfort associated with atopy, and sometimes you won't see a response for 3-6 months after starting, but if you're interested, there are some more natural methods that may help keep things under control. Sometimes, supplementing your dog's diet with essential fatty acids can help promote healthier skin and coat. Frequent bathing in shampoos labelled "antipruritic" can be beneficial. There's a great company based out of Wisconsin called Animals Apawthecary - they make a stellar formula called "Detox Blend" made specifically for chronic allergy sufferers that's manufactered with herbal remedies like burdock, dandelion, milk thistle and red clover.

Best of luck with your dog - I really commend your effort to become more educated and do the best you can for her. I hope this response wasn't too long!

What is canine Chronic hypersensitivity dermatitis and what treatments are available?

That is doctor speak for a severe, ongoing, skin allergy.

It's more than likely caused by the food you are feeding her. Read the label, it should NOT contain: corn or wheat products, animal-by-products, or animal digest. If you can't pronounce every ingredient, consider changing brands.

Read "Foods Pets Die For" by Ann N. Martin for all the gruesome and shocking details.

Look into Innova EVO. That is getting rave reviews from allergic dog owners. California Natural (they have a skin and coat supplement that works wonders), Artemis, Canidae, and Wellness are really good too. Look them up on the internet.

You should consider a different vet. I think he is using big words to convince you that your dog needs treatments that she may not need.

What is canine Chronic hypersensitivity dermatitis and what treatments are available?

Hi ! My 12yr. old Male dog has this same problem while the prednazone is helping my vet also recommed I Bathe him aleast Once a week with a moisterizing shampoo / Medicated also this has helped my Dog tremendously It's merely an allergy to something in the environment that they get as they get older not all dogs get this but there are the unlucky few just make sure after shampoo you rinse extremely well then a final rinse of cool water . OH! and follow the directions on the shampoo( you can get this from you vet.)

Canine Prednisone Causing Hairloss?

My 1 year old boxer has been diagnosed with Aseptic Menengitis and has been on Prednisone treatment for the last 2 months and will continue dosage for another 3 to 4 months. He's been losing hair over the past month or so and has a few bald areas and a few thinning areas, is this a side effect of the prednisone? If so is there anyway to help with the amount of hair loss? Will his hair grow back once his treatment is done? Thanks in advance.

Canine Prednisone Causing Hairloss?

Yes, one of the side affects is poor coat. My beardie was on prednisone and it affected his coat drastically. Whether or not your dog's coat will go back to normal depends a lot on how long he's on the prednisone. Relatively short term his coat should come back. Also, your guy is only a year old, my dog was quite old when he was on it so his coat wasn't what it was when he was younger.

Canine Prednisone Causing Hairloss?

It sounds like it. Either ask your Vet or google it.

Canine Prednisone Causing Hairloss?

u should see the vet but if its like leukemia then the hair will fall out when the treatment is being given but it will all grow back sooner or later

Canine Prednisone Causing Hairloss?

Long term Pred use or any sterioid can cause damage and is hard on their liver and kidneys. The hair loss could be a side effect of the extra stress. The hair loss may stop once the treatment is over but not a sure bet.

Beauty Care?

What treatments are there for hair loss in women?

Ask your doctor about minoxidil (the generic name for Rogaine.) This is over-the-counter and available in 2% and 5% concentrations. It's something of a nuisance to apply but it helps conserve hair and may even grow some. Propecia is a drug that helps men retain their hair but unfortunately has no use for women. Propecia is not safe for women of childbearing age and it just doesn't work for older women. This is unfortunate but, for the moment, this is the situation. Surgical procedures like hair transplants can be useful for some women as well as men to "fill in" thinned-out areas.

Hair loss is a process of evolution, race, heridity, hormones, ageing, and health.Medicines do not work.1)A low carbohydrate high protein diet,2)Limiting family without using hormones,contraseptives,3)Hair root massage with luke warm olive oil,and 4)Using soapnut in place of shampoos are about the best hope.

Beauty Care?

what shampoo did you used to use? pantene is famous in the profession for wax buildup which can eventually build up in the area from where each hair grows, thus causing the hair to not grow back.

loosing 80 - 100 hairs daily is normal. they grow back; unless there is something wrong.(like wax build up)

What is most recent medications treat bladness in men?

mediacal codition, hair loss in men, recent medical treatment

What is most recent medications treat bladness in men?

I think it's finasteride, available in 2.5mg tabs (brand name Propecia). It is to be taken once a day, and must be taken for at least 3-6 months for results to be seen. It works best by preventing further hair loss. It may be difficult to achieve new hair growth, but be patient and take the medicine for months and hopefully you will see results.

I still have one more question? 10 points will be given to the best answer.?

I asked a question about hair loss before. But I need help so bad. My hair loss is getting worse and I'm worried and I need help so bad and fast. I need the best treatment that will recover my hair loss fast and I am so worried! I need help so badly and I want a thicker, stronger, and healthy hair. Also, I always put olive oil before bath time and it will take 3 to 6 months to take my hair to recover but I need the best treatment that will prevent hair loss from getting worse so quickly and one more thing, please no websites and I want real answers. Thanks so much!!!!! And thanks so much!! (again!)

I still have one more question? 10 points will be given to the best answer.?

alright, I can see your pain. hmm ok here I'm giving you this formula and you just have to use it. put all your faith in it and just start using it. its not an oil, but a magic.

you need;

Coconut oil

Nigela oil ( you can visit indian store and ask for it, in hindi its known as Kalonji.they are also known as Black seeds. we need its oil)

take equal quantities of both the oils. like 500ml of coconut and 500ml of nigela oil. mix them together and fill in the bottle. now the mixture will be on 1litres. (500+500)

mix them well, and apply on the scalp, in your hair and massage well. massage with your finger tips. keep using it like thrice a week. and keep it overnight. wash the next day. and if you are at home, like weekends, then you can even keep it for 2 days. you will see the positive result soon.

Trust me, this is just the one way for healthy hair. use it atleast try it please.

I still have one more question? 10 points will be given to the best answer.?

drink and eat a lot of protein. i.e. protein shakes, eat meat, eggs. protein makes your hair grow back faster. hope this helped

I still have one more question? 10 points will be given to the best answer.?

um if your hair is falling out a bunch you might have cancer that is not good news but if not on the bright side u cann keep it up all the time that will make it thick or wash it and dont dry and make it get all messy in the mornig comb and put up this has been in teen pop magazine and since i am hannah montana's biggest fan i pay attentiuon to all her or aly and aj's beauty secrets and this is one of them not the cancer part but it has been showed that if your hair falls out like evryday u might have a chance of having cancer and i cant wait answer my question on entertainment and music evryone plz i am in depertet nee luv ya ally aj and hannah montana moooya nad to the ocean i luv u more than anything

I still have one more question? 10 points will be given to the best answer.?

The answer to this depends of why your hair is falling out-are you post op, obese, nutirient deficient???. Omega-3 supplements may help, but you're not going to see immediate results. Buy a wig. I wear then just for fun and no one ever knows, there are a lot of natural looking falsies out there. I believe you may have posted this in the wrong section.

I still have one more question? 10 points will be given to the best answer.?

after i had my last kid my hair started falling out bad! what i did was to go see a professional. now, i don't like to spend my money all the time but only a qualified hair professional can truly tell you what's going on with your hair. i think that might be the best thing for you to do. it worked for me and my hair is back on the right track. losing your hair is scary and it may be to a number of factors, stress, diet, whatever, but you and a hair stylist you trust should work it out together.

I still have one more question? 10 points will be given to the best answer.?

My sister once told me about some stuff called Wild Growth.

It is designed to make your hair grow %26amp; it was used on my baby sister's head and it worked. You can order it online at wildgrowth.com but I would advise you to get it at Sally Beauty supply store (it's cheaper if you get it in the store) if you live in America..

Hope I helped. . . .

I can honestly tell you that castor (*sp*) oil is the best for thinning hair or if your hair is falling out. My mom and aunt's swear by it and say that it really works and the results are quick. Just apply it to your hair and keep it in as long as you can (try not to wash it too often). But use it faithfully.

Another thing that I have recently heard works really well is snake oil. Yes, snake oil. Use it the same as the castor oil. I'm not sure if they sell it in the U.S., but one of my aunt's brought some back with her from the Middle East this summer.

Also, increase your calcium and vitamin D intake, or take multi vitamins like Centrum Complete for Women.

InshAllah whatever you do end up using helps strengthen your hair.

What products and methods should I use on my blonde, fragile, abormally frizzy, curly hair?

My hair is not normal. I have what is affectionately referred to as a "Jew 'fro". But it's much frizzier and tighter curled, than the average Jewish curly mane. It's this uncontrollable, erratic, frizzy Z curl that I can do nothing with! It's extremely course. It feels like fiberglass. Constantly tangles! (My hair is long. Short becomes an afro.) I always use either moisturizing or anti-frizz shampoos and conditioners and leave-in conditioners and anti-frizz treatments and they don't help. I also don't wash my hair every day as that would be too drying. I'm at a loss. My hair is also very fragile and breaks constantly, even with a wide toothed comb. And tons of my hair comes out in the shower. It's aweful! Because I am blonde, I have no melanin to give added strength. They never know what to do with my hair at salons as they aren't used to dealing with my hair type. Any advice on what I can do or use? And how can I keep it detangled daily, without having to wash it daily?

What products and methods should I use on my blonde, fragile, abormally frizzy, curly hair?

Ok girl you need 2 products.

#1 PROTIEN. go to a SALON not your local drug store. you need the good stuff. Ask for a protien treatment. this will make your hair stronger.

#2 MOISTURE. again go to a SALON and ask for a moisture treatment. if you just use the protien your hair will become so strong that it just breaks, so you need moisture to make it soft and managable.

Hair care is simple and finite. stick with a simple routine and your mane will shine. oh speaking of shine, grab a cheap hair serum like friz ease and use it after or while blow drying to add shine and nix frizz.

What products and methods should I use on my blonde, fragile, abormally frizzy, curly hair?

girl go to victoria secret and tey got the perfect solution for you. i had the same problem, but difference i'm not blond.

What products and methods should I use on my blonde, fragile, abormally frizzy, curly hair?

i suggest using all matrix/biolage products

they are great for your hair type, everything from shampoo to straightening gel

What products and methods should I use on my blonde, fragile, abormally frizzy, curly hair?

REDKEN has a wonderful product out now call fresh curls. Go to a salon and get some they have sham, cond, leave in cond, anti frizz shiner. I got my friend a trial pack and she loved it all.

What products and methods should I use on my blonde, fragile, abormally frizzy, curly hair?

I know that Infusion for tangles works great and you can use it everyday just put it in a spray bottle add a little water if you want and spray it all over. And for the frizz I use the oil treatments that they have at Walmart you can use both at the same time.

Sweet Aunt Jeminma just milked Michael Jordan!?!?

June 1, 2007-

The popular and sweet Aunt Jeminma syrup was seen milking Michael Jordans udders today. She squeezed on them like a buffalo grasps cheddar rolls of play-dough. Michael Jordan hollered as Aunt Jeminma began using his milk to create buttermilk pancakes.

Spicy tuna caserole is on the verge of becoming the newest treatment for severe hair loss. Paitents can rub it into their scalp and deep within their ear lobes to feel a tingly sensation of the new growth of wirey and rugged hairs.

Cashews are in an excessive amount in Montana. To get rid of the salty nut, baseballs have been thrown in the air and people are constantly using fingerpaints of only the color yellow.

In the Bahamas sightings of the Enormous Yorkshire Terrier have been excessive. People say he gallops in the wind and howls like a cuyote with an upset stomach.

Is Rogaine and Minoxidil the same thing?

Wondering if the active ingredient in Rogaine is Minoxidil?

Because I bought the COSTCO (Kirkland brand) of

Minoxidil ( 5% extra strength) for my husband.

After reading the insert it illustrates that it should be used on what they call the "vertex" of the scalp ( basically the crown of the head)

the problem is ...

My husbands hair loss is around the front of the hairline from the forehead up on either side like a V.

I'm wondering if this kind of Hair regrowth treatment will work for him.

When I looked up Rogaine online it doesn't specify an area on the head like the Minoxidil does...

any ideas

suggestions

experiance?

Is Rogaine and Minoxidil the same thing?

Rogaine is the brand name for minoxidil. Minoxidil is in the class of drugs called hair growth stimulants. Rogaine works on your hair follicles, rather than on the hair. Rogaine efficiently stimulate hair growth on the bald spot of the back of the head in men. In women, Rogaine can boost hair growth in the forehead areas.

Rogaine (Minoxidil) medication works effectively for both men and women. With Minoxidil as its active ingredient, Rogaine is one of the most popular hair loss treatments available in the market for use.

This FDA endorsed hair loss treatment for both men and women is available in the strength of 2% and 5% Minoxidil. While 2% of Minoxidil is suggested for use by either of the gender, but 5% of this medication is meant for usage specifically by men. Speak with your doctor to well-acquaint your self about the appropriate usage directions, and whether it is suitable for you or not.

Help! I think my Labrador has a skin allergy atopy, is it curable or is there treatment?!?

My dog has been scratching a lot at his neck (which is becoming hairless and a blackish grayish color), stomach and licking his paws. I read that these are all signs of this allergy; I thought his recent hair loss on his neck was from the new collar I got him with a rubber like cushion for comfort. I am very worried! And I am looking for any extra information. Thank you

Help! I think my Labrador has a skin allergy atopy, is it curable or is there treatment?!?

I would highly recommend trying to find a Veterinary Dermatologist in your area. A specialist can save you money in the long run.

Has he been checked at all for this????

It sounds like mange, but there are other causes.

The blackish grey is often thickened skin from chronic infections caused from the scratching at mange mites.

If it is mange or another skin condition it may be curable. But waiting could make things much worse.

Get the dog to a vet, find a specialist if possible but any vet can help if it's mange.

Is there time limit for how long i should apply tretinoin as my facil acne treatment?

my dermatologist has prescribed me tretinoin cream 0.05% to cure my acne ( i heard its also good for hair loss, which is great considering i can also apply it liberally on my hair loosing areas) id like to know if theres a limit. Maybe until your skin starts depending on it? that happened to me once with hydrocortizone for another skin disease i had and my other doctor told me to stop using it because the affected area was addicted to the medication and it started depending on it.

The medicine is proving effective and it seems it akes about 6 weeks to see good results but i wanna know if i can keep on using it to prevent furthure acne?

Is there time limit for how long i should apply tretinoin as my facil acne treatment?

It can be used for a long time as long as it is showing some effects. If the problem you are treating are resolved then better try to wean yourself. Remember, it has good effects but some side effects are also standing by.To prevent further acne (after good results are achieved) try some other precautions.

Can anybody help me about the best treatment/remedy for my dog's skin disease?

I have a 4month old female Dachshund, and as of now she is suffering from skin irritation as characterized by a wound which has the presence of surface pus %26amp; slight hair-loss within the area. Presently, she has 5 very small %26amp; 3 average-sized wound. She regularly takes her Vitamins, %26amp; bathes twice-a-week.

Can anybody help me about the best treatment/remedy for my dog's skin disease?

They look like hot spots. You should take her to the vet, as they generally need antibiotics to clear them up. Depending on how irritated she is, she may also need a shot of cortisone to damp things down a bit.

Bathing her twice a week may actually be contributing to her skin problems. You really shouldn't be bathing her more than about once every two weeks. Over-frequent bathing disrupts the normal protective barrier of the skin, making the dog more prone to skin infections.

Why does she take vitamins? If you have her on a half-decent dog food, there's no need for extra supplementation.

Can anybody help me about the best treatment/remedy for my dog's skin disease?

It sounds like she has what are called hot spots. You can get medication for hot spots at pet stores. You may want to try that and also give her some vitamin E.

Can anybody help me about the best treatment/remedy for my dog's skin disease?

Take her to the vet. If the vets hands look like that picture, tell him/her to clean under those nails. Dude looks like he just changed a transmission.

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

I know that i will have to get something that will repel fleas and get rid of them, what would be the best product for that? And also, what is a good topical medication to reduce the itching and and help the hair loss and and scabs?

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

Frontline, or Advantage. Many years ago, when I had my first experience with fleas, we tried to be cheap about it, buying flea shampoos and some cheap brand to put on their necks and neither worked, at all. Frontline and Advantage kick flea butt.

You can get them at this wonderful website (subscribe to get their catalogue in the mail.. has nifty stuff in it!). Just go to the cat section, then the flea %26amp; tick section. Their prices are much, much better than what my vet sells them for.

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

You need either Frontline or Advantage. The other cheap stuff at the stores is crap and does not work.

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

advantage

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

Get her some Frontline and the fleas %26amp; scabs should go away. Don't use store brand flea treatments, they can kill a cat.

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

Advantage. But don't buy anything from any place like Walmart or Target. Vets have the best thing. The stuff they sell at the store is weak and washes away to easy. and can cause skin irritation. Also Get a quality flea Shampoo the cat may not like it but give them a bath with it.Or have a groomer or vet give them a bath.

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

For the fleas, you need a cat flea shampoo. If your cat is allergic to fleas, consult your vet immediately. About the scabs, put some neosporin or triple antibiotic on them and they should heal fast. Also consult your vet about the itching. He/she could have some medicine that stops itching. Also you could get an Elizabethan Collar it's a cone that goes around their neck to stop them from itching. Best of luck with your cat! To see an Elizabethan Collar on a cat go to this link:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...

Sorry the link is so long but that's a cat with an Elizabethan Collar and he cannot itch himself now.. Also the brand of cat shampoo I use on my cats is:

Sergeant's Skip-Flea %26amp; Tick Shampoo for cats

(details-Kills Fleas, Ticks %26amp; Lice_Adds lustre %26amp; groomability to cat's coat) It also has two orange tabby cats one is the mom and a kitten playing with a purple ball of yarn. They are on grass. The shampoo is pink when you look inside.

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

There aren't any products you can buy at the store that are any good. Advantage is the best for fleas and you buy it from your vet or you can get it on line. Drug store stuff is junk and can make your cat sick

What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?

My grand mother had a cat with flea bite allergies, and I bought some natural herbal wipes made by Hartz Mountain on them. They worked fine. Unfortunately, I don't know if they're still being made. My grandparents lived on the East coast (SE PA); they're gone now. But if you see the wipes, try them.

Has anyone tried Bayer advocate treatment for demodex mange and how effective is it?

I have an 8 month old pure bred collie who got treated with mitaban dip, then demodex mange recurred after 3 months. He has areas of hair loss and pustules around his right eye, mouth and outer ears.

Has anyone tried Bayer advocate treatment for demodex mange and how effective is it?

DO NOT USE BAYER

Juvenille demodex in many breeds is common, however just using a dip might not be enough for a long-haired breed. Ask your vet to medicate with Ivermectin. Secondly have a blood draw done on your dog to check for Auto-immune problems, a serious problem that starts with demodex, visibly because the body cant fight it off. Good luck. Don't settle for less.

What is the Treatment / Remedy of Hypothyroid?

I am (34) suffering from High Hypothyroid resulting weight gain, Hair loss, depression etc. Already using Eltroxin 100 mcg, one tab daily but no sign of improvement. Can any one help me with better suggestion?

What is the Treatment / Remedy of Hypothyroid?

This is a serious illness, and eltroxin is the treatment. Your doctor needs to continue increasing the dose as dictated by your lab results. Please stick with it and go to all your follow up appts. Good luck.

What is the Treatment / Remedy of Hypothyroid?

Your doctor would be the best person to consult about medication issues.

What is the Treatment / Remedy of Hypothyroid?

yes yes! I have hypothyroidism as well, since I was 13 until 21 i was taking Levothroid, it gave me a lot of side effects and didn't really help that much, I (now 31) take nothing but natural herbs. I use a thyroid activator, thyroid support, kelp, and a T3 T4 hormone stimulating supplement called TS II These are all Nature's Sunshine Product.

What is the Treatment / Remedy of Hypothyroid?

See another doctor for a second opinion on dosage. Also, you said you are suffering from "High" Hypothyroid. "Hypo"thyroidism is where the tyroid doesn't produce enough of the thyroid hormone, thus resulting in your symptoms. "Hyper"thyroidism is where the thyroid gland produces too much of this hormone, causing weight loss, difficulty in gaining weight, etc. I have hypothyroidism. Currently, I am taking 88 mcg (micrograms) of Levothyroxine, the generic equivalent of Eltroxin. There is no cure for hypothyroidism, only treatment, which comes in the form of, you guessed it, in our case, a pill for the rest of your life. Like I said before, see a different doctor and get a second opinion on dosage. HOWEVER!!!! If you are only saying you see no sign of improvement because you haven't lost any weight, your meds won't help you lose weight, they'll only help your body to lose wight the way it is supposed to when you start exercising and eating properly. This may not apply to you, but so many others with this disease think that their meds will be a magical weight loss solution, when it isn't.

What is the Treatment / Remedy of Hypothyroid?

if u r not improving clinically, then ur dose needs to be adjusted

with the correct dose, the symptoms improve and so does the lab results of FT4 %26amp; TSH

i think u need to increase the dose, do a thyroid function test and see you doctor for dose adjustment

Has anyone tried Sephora MORE Nighttime Follicle Boosting Treatment?

Has anyone tried Sephora MORE Nighttime Follicle Boosting Treatment?

my friend did and it worked great

Do you know the treatment?

my hair is thinning....every time i shampoo, brush my hair....so lots of hair loss....

Do you know the treatment?

One quick way off the top of my head, would be use a comb, only once a day when you wake up, and dont over do-it then either.

Do you know the treatment?

It's probably:

heredity.

Try not to use hot water when taking a shower, if you do.

Just don't use very cold water.

Wash your hair really well.

Don't blow dry your hair every, single day. If you're free one day, take a shower, and let it air-dry.

Don't straighten your hair too much.

Don't use alot of hair products-ingredients in them will damage your hair.

That's all I know.

Anyone on minoxidil 5% treatment?

ive used it off and on for diffuse hair loss in the past but had to discontinue cus of the unwanted hair growth on the forehead...my dermatologist says i should get the forehead hair removed by laser and continue using minoxidil indefinitely..im not sure about the laser hair removal as well as the long-term effects of minoxidil..has anyone been through this kind of medication..hows ur experience or wat do u suggest anyway?

Anyone on minoxidil 5% treatment?

I used minoxidil 5% for a few years and thought it was effective for maintaining what I have. It did not regrow my hair the way it was during college. I stopped using it when I heard about the potential side effects and thought that I was just gonna go bald like Vin Diesel.

I understand that laser hair combs do not have side effects and that's my likely next move. Hairobics has been effective in rejuvenating my follicles, but I'm not sure if it's enough.

Watch this Dateline NBC video report. It reviewed 5 products and might give you an idea --

If you used to bleach your hair or to dye it I think now would be the best moment to stop that procedure and use a gently shampoo and a hair mask. Stop using mousse, hair gel and other styling products for the moment.

After 2-3 weeks if cannot see any improvements, you must consult a specialist.

Good Luck!

Help! I'm Getting Bald!!!?

You are going to think I'm nuts but, here goes! Look to your diet first! Told you! Losing your hair comes from a poor diet (no veggy?) or too much in the way of hormones. Find a good vitamin, if you hate veggys no problem, my youngest hates them too, the way we balance her diet is to use the juices that have recently come on the market for 2.00 at Walmart you can buy a big bottle of "berry splash juice which has a carrot juice base but, it also has apple juice and berries that make it sweet and yummy even for a kid that would live on mac and cheese if we let her! I had to RESTRICT her juices intake to 2 glasses a day. OK big glasses and some days she gets the biggest glasses in the house so that she can stay within my limits. A little reverse psychology, I admit but, she loves the juices and you might too! Get healthy Baby! it's the best thing you can do for your self this year and watch how your fingernails start to grow long and beautiful at the same time! Your skin will clean up and glow and you will have a glowing kind of inner beauty that people will notice within a couple of months. We try to get my daughter to drink a glass of juice and then the same size glass of water it will clear your whole system up! If the healthy update doesn't work in about 3 months? Call the doctor for professional advice!

I want the real low down on weight gain during treatment for breast cancer. Is it really that bad?

I am 44, premenopausal, stage IIB, one positive node, 4 removed, not sure yet on Her2 or estrogen +, get pathology report next week. Just had a masectomy 5 days ago. I am starting to read all about treatments and starting to get freaked out with all my body might have to go through!! I am set to start chemo in about 4 weeks and now I learn that on top of everything else, weight gain is on the list too!! I am already 40 lbs overweight and can't afford to get any heavier!! I'm just so overwhelmed with everything. I need the real low down on breast cancer side affects. Also, is this it for menopause? Will I menstruate after treatments end? Again, not only do you have to go through side effects of this dreaded disease, you have to endure the symptoms of menopause!! The hair loss is enough to endure. How can you have a positive attitude when you're bald, fat, having hot flashes, fatigued, scarred, nauseous, etc.?! Please help with any advice you may have! Thanks.

I want the real low down on weight gain during treatment for breast cancer. Is it really that bad?

First off, all of these side effects are alot better than dying from cancer, so count your blessings and don't piddle in what your problems are now. If I were you, I'd be pretty thankful.. My mom had a masectomy just a week ago as well. Weight gain will generally only be cause becuase the drugs they give you will help up your appetite, since most cancer patient's don't have much of one. It's only to keep you healthy, but it doesn't mean you can't manage your weight. Don't eat like a cow, just eat healthily. And after chemo and such, you will probably stop menstrating but can't say for sure.. but generally, yes.

The truth is, if you can't laugh about it, then you're just going to cry over it. So incorporate your own ways to find humor and positivity in your situation, I know me and my mother have.

I want the real low down on weight gain during treatment for breast cancer. Is it really that bad?

I'm sorry but you did not give the right information concerning weight gain. It's from the steroids and hormones she might have to get. I really hope your'e more sympathetic towards your mother's illness than you make yourself out to be in your answer to gg. Everyone has the right to "piddle". Report It

I want the real low down on weight gain during treatment for breast cancer. Is it really that bad?

Hi, I hate being the one to put our so called 'saviours' down all the time but the fact is that allopathic medicine always does more harm than good. Did you know how many effective, CURES for cancer have been discovered and suppressed by the FDA because they won't make the drug companies money?? At the end of the day, the sad fact is that cancer is a very profitable disease. It is now afflicting one in three women in North America and that's a HUGE market. Oh and one more thing, conventional cancer treatment has a less than 3% survival rate!!!! Now that's something your doctor won't want to tell you about, but is a fact.

Now for what I KNOW to be true: Cancer is not just one disease. It is a name for a multitude of similar diseases. And, it is EASILY curable. I mean completely curable. Do yourself a favour and do some research on the subject before allowing a doctor to inject poison into your body. Think about it, if it's designed to kill the cancerous cells how do you know it won't kill the rest of your body? The most well documented cure for cancer is called the "Budwig Protocol", started by a German Biochemist and seven times Nobel Prize Nominee Dr. Johanna Budwig. It has a PROVEN, over 95% success rate, even in patients at their last stage. At this stage, if you apply her protocol, I am sure your cancer can be reversed with no ill side effect whatsoever.

Another well known therapy is called "Ozone Therapy" which has originally ben utilized to heal AIDS but is also very effective in treating cancer. If you live in the States, it is unfortunatley unavailable since it was such a big threat to the FDA (Btw, most of the members who sit ont he FDA are the owners and controllers of major pharmaceutical companies. Do you see a conflict of interest there?)

Lastly, the origin of cancer was discovered over 20 years ago when scientists found that cancer is caused in a way similar to how scurvy was developed a long time ago: due to a nutrient deficiency. They showed, with their research, that cancer is a Vitamin B-17 deficiency and it is impossible to develop cancer if you have adequate B-17 in your diet. Back in the days when flour was stone ground only a short time before preparing bread, people woould get their B-17 from it. However, since it now sits for ages before we get to eat our bread, the vitamin oxidized causing a complete definicy of the vitamin in the modern world. Details on where to get Vitamin B-17 (which of course was also made illegal in the States due to it's powers sometime ago) can be found by doing a simple search on Google.

I would strongly recommend that you do your homework before you allow doctors to decide your fate. When you take a drug that causes hair loss and a multitude of other issues, your body is trying to tell you something: get OFF the drug! Anyone know products for women that truly help thinning hair?

I'm 40, have 3 kids (9, 6, 3) and have noticed over the last 3-5 years my hair falling out and beginning to thin on top. This is extremely distressing to me and I'm worried to death about it. My thyroid is in check and I have no health problems that cause hair loss, so I don't know how to fix this problem. My ob said there's really nothing anyone, male or female, can do about thinning hair. It's just age, hormone, stress related. He said even Rogaine doesn't work or else we wouldn't still see bald men, much less women! Does anyone who has had this problem know any treatments that truly made a difference before I go spending tons of cash on a million products promising thicker hair. Mind you, I'm not bald or balding - I've just noticed a definite thinning on the crown of my head and have to carefully style my hair so that my scalp doesn't show.

Applying warm coconut oil mixed with castor oil[2:1] ,left overnight and washed with herbal shampoo will help. Also try application of onion juice ,wash with mild shampoo/plain water after half an hour.

I went to the Dermatologist, and he did a biopsy of my head. That will find out the root problem with the hair not growing or not growing in some spots. In my case, it was determine that I had dead hair follicles that will not grow back because of years of putting perms, and hair dyes, in my hair.

Don't waste your money, like I did going to places, that promise you thick and longer hair. There are none. I can tell you I waste, over $4,000 in some Laser Treatment that did not work.

Go to your Dermatologist, he or she will get to the root of the problem for you. There maybe some oil ointment, that you need a prescription for. It did not work for me, but you never know it may work for you. Depending on the problem.

Good Luck.

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help

I have spent about $300 on headlice treatments over the last 3 months. I have worked hard to clean and treat everything. I have used everything on the market for them, as well as all the natural and home remedities.

The only things I haven't tried is hair coloring and the robocomb.

My daughter is 8, so I think it would be safe enough to use some hair color on her hair and use the robo comb to keep a tabs on it, as she doesn't seem to complain about the headlice untill they have gone nuts again - usually 5 days after the other treatments.

I am just sick of them and I seem this time I have got them too -so will dye my hair too. My son and my husband who both have very short hair, has seemed to miss this torture. I don't want to resort to shaving our heads, but this is mad. All the beds are treated - hats - towels etc. I keep treating them every time. HELP any suggestions that I maybe haven't tried would really be appreciated.

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help?

first, before using store bought lice treatments check and make sure they have no 'lindane' in them, it is a dangerous chemical that has caused retardation and death, never use it more than once in a 3 month period.

for more info about that, read here:

http://www.kidsource.com/kidsource/conte...

that being said, the bugs are getting stronger and many have built a resistance to just about everything you can buy for treatment off the shelf.

We have 3 elementary school children, here are our steps to success in getting rid of all head lice:

wet the head with as warm of water as child can stand (and on yourself as hot as you can handle) because lice are naturally repeled by heat.

squeeze and towel dry hair.

coat hair in pure virgin olive oil or pure coconut oil, from the tip of the hair to the roots, then cover all hair with a tightly woven thick fabric and fasten in place. this actually smothers the lice and nits to death.

Leave it wrapped up for at least an hour, over night if you can stand it.

While your hair is wrapped up its a good time to get any places that the lice may live cleaned up. Remember, they can't live very long anywhere except on the human body, but it is always best to take precautions.

Get out 3 weeks worth of clothing for everyone, wash them in hot water and put a half cup of ammonia, which won't fade anything, dry them with the hot dryer cycle, and store them in tightly tied trash bags.

We buy a roll of plastic sheeting and use thumb tacks to make closets and dressers off limits.

Put all your pillows in your bath tub, heat the biggest kettle you have full of water to boiling, and pour it over the pillows, make sure each pillow gets covered with boiling water, let that cool for 15 minutes, then wash them in the washer, with 1/2 cup of ammonia (put 3 golf balls in the dryer to fluff them back up when drying, if they are fragile pillows safety pin pillow cases over them so they don't get ruined.

Put all stuffed animals in tightly tied garbage bags

Put rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and spray everything that you can vacuum, beds, chairs, couches... give it 15 minutes to dry, it dries quick, then vacuum... throw out the vacuum bag, change the vacuum filter when you are finished sweeping.

Mop any floors (safe on everything) with a solution of 1/2 cup olive oil, 1 cup lemon juice and 1 gallon of hot water.

Dust with 1/2 cup olive oil 1/2 cup lemon juice (the nice smell of these and the shine it leaves is an added bonus)

Remember to wash all bedding in hot water and 1/2 cup ammonia. (3 golf balls in the dryer with comforters fluffs them up nicely)

Also remember to wash everything that just hangs around in the house... the apron on the hook in the kitchen, the decorative towel in the bathroom, the pile of hats by the front door, that kind of stuff.

So when all of thats done and your house feels as sterile as a hospital, grab a bowl and fill it with rubbing alcohol, a stick to check through hair (we use chop sticks), a lice comb and some big hair clips to hold the hair you aren't checking in place.

Comb hair by small sections, start on one side and work your way around, the oil will have both suffocated the lice and knits and swelled them up so they are easier to see. Make sure you pick every single bug and nit out, dip the comb in the rubbing alcohol and drop any you get with your fingers into the rubbing alcohol. When you are finished, have a rest, but make sure you check really well again, you want every single nit out, the oil also helps them to slide out of the hair more easily.

Once they are all out, vinegar will cut through some of the oil to help it wash out easier, comb vinegar through the hair and then use dish washing liquid to wash hair. Use extra hair conditioner to release the tangles that the dish washing liquid caused.

Make sure you scrub under finger nails well and often, and clean your work area with rubbing alcohol and vacuum.

And.... tell your daughter not to hug anybody at school, let her know that her teacher is not immune to head lice, tell her not to hang her coat and hat but to put it in her back pack, and not to share head garmets or jackets with anyone, no matter how clean they appear.

Also, keeping her hair in a pony tail or braided is a great preventitive, they tend to get on hair thats hanging loose a lot easier.

*o, i forgot to put in there, after everything is cleaned put the 3 weeks worth of clothes in regular laundry baskets and put them in their rooms... you only need to seal everything up for 2 weeks, the extra weeks worth of clothes is in case you need extras!

That is the best treatment.

Oddly my friend just had the same problem with her 6 year old and found a wesite that said to use "Goo B Gone" on her hair for 5 minutes, then wash out. It takes a few times of washing to get it completely out of the hair but it takes with it all of the nits and everything. Good luck to you.

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help?

when i was younger i know that flea shampoo and a lice comb removed the lice from my hair, and soaking your head will drown the lice. cutting your hair shorter and definatley dying it would be a sure way to get rid of them.

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help?

Have you gotten a prescription from the doctor?? My daughter had them once..(of course it was after she was at her dad's house...and he sent her home to me to take care of them....grrrr...)

This worked really well...but you have to follow the directions...I did it wrong and had to do it all over... Really go through her hair many times a day to comb through and get all the eggs...which are horrible to remove...

Good luck to you!!

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help?

Have you notified her schol that she has headlice. She could be getting reinfestations/ Have you explained to her not to share anything that come into contact with her hair? Like brushes, combs, hats, clothing....

It might be time to see if there is prescription product that will work better than over the counter.

It's really important to remove all the lice eggs from the hair shafts as well.

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help?

You don't say what home remedies you've used, but lice don't like orange and it might upset your daughter but orange peel over the head overnight is supposed to work (use a hairnet). However, I used to be a nanny to two girls who had horrendous lice. Every day I used a nit comb on their hair before they went to school, then sprayed their heads with tea tree oil diluted in water. The lice wouldn't settle on their heads eventually, and the smell isn't too bad either. It's the only thing I've found to work well, but while at school, the hair needs to be sprayed daily.

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help?

I used to be the exact same when I was a little girl. My mom TRIED EVERYTHING!

from R%26amp;C to LICE hair care products, nothing was working.

A friend of my mom's suggested REGULAR mayonnaise.

Don't think, "eww.." because it actually works!

You buy regular mayonnaise (real mayo) with egg. Cover her entire head with it (hair that is)

than wrap some seran wrap / plastic wrap around her head and leave in overnight.

In the morning rinse it out. All of the lice/ eggs will be dead. Than all you have to do is pick them out with a lice comb or tweezers?

good luck!

Not only do you need to treat her you need to wash all bedding and any outer coats that she might wear. All needs to be done at the same time. It can be a vexing and worrisome problem to get rid of.

Is a few good web sites full of information, you need to address why you keep getting it back.

Have you googled it for answers?

My daughters school told me that lice don't like clean hair and not to send her to school with freshly washed hair. Also to wear her hair up in a pony tail so the lice can't reach the scalp - so I have been sending her to school like this, she is clean just not her hair all the time - easy for me as she is in school only 3 days a week.

Gosh what an awful thing to be saddled with - hope you can get rid of it soon. Good luck.

i know this sounds wierd but seven dust is the BEST cure. i had it from kinder garden to 5th grade and nothing work but seven dust. you just boil it with some water and mix it in with your shampoo. and it doesn't harm you or your hair. honestly its the best.

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help?

Ah head lice....a wonderful thing our children come home with isn't it?? My daughter brought it home from school about 2 years ago. I was mortified. And I found it the most stressful and hardest thing to get rid of. I thought it was gone, but it came back a few weeks later. Luckily I didn't get it....the school nurse told me it was probably because of all the hair products I put in my hair.....I looooovee hairspray! Anyways, I too tried a lot of over the counter applications and natural/home remedies. That stuff only kills the ones that are hatched and crawling around on the scalp. IT DOES NOT KILL THE EGGS! The eggs must be removed by picking them out. Every night for at least an hour, for two weeks, I went through her hair section, by section, by miserable section picking out the little white eggs. At the end of the two weeks, I put another treatment in her hair. All the bedding got a wash in very hot water and went around a couple of times in the clothes dryer. All of her stuffed animals were also put through the dryer and then bagged up in garbage bags and were kept that way for a month. As a preventative measure, she always went to school with her hair pulled back into a ponytail and constantly reminded not to hug her friends. Don't waste your money on the fancy treatments you see everywhere. Buy a decent over the counter medication and be very diligent about going over every section of her hair with a fine tooth comb. Good luck!

To hair experts out there - I am at a loss to find a cure for my daughters head lice. Could you help?

Your child's doctor can recommend a medicated shampoo, cream, or lotion to kill the lice. These may be over-the-counter or prescription medications, depending on what treatments have already been tried. It isn't uncommon for treatments to be unsuccessful because of incorrect use or because the lice may be resistant to the chemical in the shampoo.

It's important to follow the directions exactly because these products are insecticides. Applying these medications too much or too frequently can increase the risk of causing harm. Following the directions on the product label is also important to ensure that the treatment works properly. Your child's doctor may also suggest a special rinse to use on your child's hair that makes it easier to comb out the nits using a fine-tooth comb.

Medicated lice treatments can usually kill the lice and nits, but it may take a few days for the itching to stop. Your child's doctor may recommend repeating treatment in 7 to 10 days to make sure all the nits have been killed, to avoid any risk of reinfestation.

If your child is 2 years old or under, you should not use medicated lice treatments. You'll need to remove the nits and lice by hand.

It's also a good idea to use a fine-tooth comb on your child's hair after regular shampooing every 3 to 4 days for 2 weeks. Wetting the hair beforehand is recommended because it temporarily immobilizes the lice and they become easier to comb out.

Keep in mind that head lice don't survive long once they fall off a person. So it's unnecessary to spend a great deal of time and money trying to rid the house of lice. here are some simple steps you can take to help get rid of the lice and their eggs, and help prevent a lice reinfestation:

Wash all bed linens and clothing that's been recently worn by anyone in your home who's infested in very hot water (130 degrees Fahrenheit, or 54.4 degrees Celsius) then put them in the hot cycle of the dryer for at least 20 minutes.

Dry clean any clothing that isn't machine washable.

Have bed linens, clothing, and stuffed animals and plush toys that can't be washed dry-cleaned. Or, put them in airtight bags for 2 weeks.

Vacuum carpets and any upholstered furniture (in your home or car).

Soak hair-care items like combs, barrettes, hair ties or bands, headbands, and brushes in rubbing alcohol or medicated shampoo for 1 hour. You can also wash them in hot water or just throw them away.

Because lice are easily passed from person to person in the same house, other infested family members will also need treatment to prevent the lice from coming back.

In your efforts to get rid of the bugs, there are some things you shouldn't do. Some don'ts of head lice treatment include:

Don't use a hair dryer on your child's hair after applying any of the currently available scalp treatments, because some contain flammable ingredients.

Don't use a cream rinse or shampoo/conditioner combination before applying lice medication.

Don't wash your child's hair for 1 to 2 days after using a medicated treatment.

Don't use sprays or hire a pest control company to try to get rid of the lice, as they can be harmful.

Don't use the same medication more than three times on one person. If it doesn't seem to be working, your child's doctor may recommend another medication.

Don't use more than one head lice medication at a time.

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

Hope you find something.

I used to have a beautiful hair but it's gone..help?

The fast way to solve the problem is to have your hair cut shorter to clear out the dry hair. Keep to have hair cut to let

the new soft hair replace slowly. Please be paitent since short hair is quite fresh and looks not serious for such little dry. !

Do a Britney...shave all your 'bad hair' off and let new hair grow.

Will Hair thinning supliments make my hair thicker even though I have normal hair?

My hair isnt exactly thinning! but it has always been thin all my life, and it causes loads of problems like, I feel like i cant go anywhere without fully voluminising and blow drying it because normally my hair litterally sticks to my face, I look like a man with long hair because it has hardly any body or texture. Plus its naturally very very straight and i find it hard to curl it also.

I have seen these treatments or suppliments people can take who have thinning hair. So If i take these will it make my hair thicker or will it not work because my hair is always the same and its not getting worse everyday like hair loss sufferers.. I just crave for fuller more feminine hair.

any help?

Will Hair thinning supliments make my hair thicker even though I have normal hair?

No, It won't make any difference to your hair. As you mentioned your hair have been thin all your life so no vitamins will make any difference. You should be thankful that you don't have any problem with your hair.

Hair Thinning & Hair Lost?

My aunt is only 37 and already, her hair is thinning, and she is losing a lot of hair. This has been going for as long as I can remember, and it hurts to see so much bald spots on her. I know this doesn't run in the family because both her parents are almost sixty and still have lots of natural, thick hair and when she was younger, she too, had lots of hair.

Does anyone know what she can do (like certain treatments) to stop this from happening or even minimize the hair loss other than transplants or anything too over the top?

Thank you so much, everyone.

Hair Thinning %26amp; Hair Lost?

As women age their body actually produces small amounts of testosterone. Men produce testosterone and that is why they go bald,as you see some men have more hair loss then others but it is all due to testosterone. Testosterone is a hormone associated with balding and thinning hair. She could see a naturalist, herbalist,or her ob/gyn and see about possible hormone therapy. Those hair loss kits they sell at the drug store do work, but they cost alot, and as soon as you stop using them the hair falls out again. There is a product called Nioxin,my mom uses it on some of her clients and it works. You have to purchase it from a hair dresser, but i know they will charge you retail for it.If you like or are ever interested i could probably get you the company phone number from my mom, that way you could maybe call them and get it for less.I am not sure of the prices but you could look up the product.google it.NIOXIN
