Treatment for hormonal imbalance?

Hormone Imbalance

Hormones have a profound effect on your everyday health and well-being. Although present in only tiny amounts, hormones act on every cell of your body. Hormones have individual affects, but also interact with each other to produce dramatic effects in the body. Because of these interactions, they are able to trigger multiple body systems.

Types of Hormone Imbalance

There are a number of common symptoms associated with hormone imbalance(s):

Female hormone imbalance

The ovaries produce many hormones. Chief among them are estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. The ovarian hormones estrogen and progesterone interact to coordinate a woman閳ユ獨 menstrual cycle during her reproductive years. The brain produces the hormones follicle stimulating hormones (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) which trigger hormone production from the ovaries. When any of the hormones coming from the brain or the ovaries are imbalanced, symptoms may occur. Imbalances are most common in puberty and menopause, but imbalances can happen at any age. Several conditions are well known to be associated with hormonal imbalance including: polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, breast disease, and menstrual irregularities.

Treatment for hormonal imbalance?

I dont know whch type of hormone imbalace you suffer from, so will go with the most common one. Usually there is an excess of estrogen to progesterone, especially in the latter half of the cycle.

A simple way to help this, is natural progesterone cream. used after ovulation.

The reason that the combined pill is prescribed for hormone imbalance is not to cure the problem but to mask it.

Because the pill stops ovulation, a woman will not release the same amount of hormone as if she did ovulate.

Also the pill replaces natural hormones, which rise and fall during the month, with a constant level of artificial hormones.

This is why it is very hard to find a pill which suits you. It is practically impossible to duplicate your own natural hormone rythym with artificial hormones.

Natural progesterone cream is far more beneficial and easily tolerated than any of the combined pills. And of course it has no bad or dangerous side effects.Make sure that the cream you get is usp progesterone. This means that it is identical to the progesterone your own body produces.

Beow is just one web site of many where you can buy natural progesterone cream.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

She has large black scabs due to a loss of fur. We have a German Shepherd too so is it his fault? The scabs are getting worse and are really ugly! We went to the vet and he didn't know what it was. She losing hair. She is young. I'm worreied!

What is it? Cause and treatment

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

Use some fungicide on it, and demand the vet run a thyroid test. Pugs have major health issues within the breed at this time. I wouldn't suggest people buy them. They are wonderful sweet little dogs, but their health has plummeted in the last twenty years.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

It may be allergies. It sounds like she has "hot spots." I suggest going back to the vet and having them run a complete work up for allergies. Pugs a prone to having them and this will let you know what it may be and how to deal wih it. It could be anything from a food allergy, to house hold or even an allergy to dogs.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

It's possibly a flea allergy, a food allergy, or mange. Don;t be scared by the mange thought...Demodex isn't contagious to humans, is common and starts arounf the dogs face usually, base of tail and front legs. Does that sound about right? Could be a food allergy...I'd take him to the Vet, they can do a scraping to determine the cause...a change in diet and medicated baths could be in order. Lastly, if he has fleas, they could be bugging him to no end...Frontline and medicated baths would help...if I were you, I'd google images for mange on pugs, flea allergies and skin allergies...see if any of them look familiar...

Hope that helps...

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

The vet didn't know what it was and didn't attempt to treat it in any way? I'd go see another doctor. He should have at least tried a steroid shot or some pills for allergies.

My pug with some repulsive skin problems. What is it? Cause and treatment!!! She has black scabs...?

Well, in addition to medication and anything your vet finds, try switching to a really good food... find one that has NO grains or corn in it (oats are ok).

Purina, Pedigree, Science Diet, Alpo, Beneful are not what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, it is inexpensive to use poor quality ingredients, so the food isn't a good quality and they use things like corn and grains that do tend to cause skin/allergy problems in dogs (which may be what is going on with your pug)...

Look under the 4, 5, or 6 star foods. They are made with ingredients that are just a better quality. We use Natural Balance Duck and Potatoe, grain free allergy formula...

Hopefully this helps.

There is a wide variety of things that could be affecting your Pug - ranging from mange to flea bites. The only way to be sure is to take your little Pug to the vet. The vet should be able to determine whether it could be allergies, mange, demodex mange, hot spots, or whatever it could be. It sounds like you may need to find a different vet.

It's rather difficult to find websites that have pictures of what mange looks like ... but I tried.

Vets never investigate diets, however if they suggest a change of diet it is always something which they sell.

My dog did not have a skin problem, however she had other issues, consequently I have done a lot of research on diets.

Apparently the experts are now convinced that grain causes skin problems, digestive problems, diarrhoea and anal gland problems. The problems that grain causes are too numerous to list. I now give my dog a food that is based on fish and uses beet pulp as fibre.

Again a quote from the experts, they say that as well as grain we should exclude anything remotely connect to beef should be excluded together with dairy food. I now buy a product called Fish4dogs and her problems are long gone. Investigate the problems which are caused by including grain in your dog food and change their diets.

Allergies, maybe hot spots. You can get stuff to put on them at a pet store or even walmart

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

My friend was just diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I want to make her a special gift. Someone has already made a blanket. Her treatment has a low risk of hair loss, so she won't need a blanket. Each treatment lasts five hours. She loves dogs, big time. What is a creative gift I can make her?

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

make her a gift basket of reading materials. she's probably going to be resting after the chemo sessions, and would need stuff to do (like reading). go to a discount bookstore or a dollar store for cheap books.

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

Perhaps some dog posters when she wakes from a sleep.

And something very soft, in the canine theme as well.

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

She needs to relax and rest. You can give her some Japanese hot spring powder that she can pour into water when she takes a bath. It's very soothing.

Maybe she is too weak to take care of a dog,but you can promise her after she recovers, you will give her a cute puppy.

amo's idea is good,too.

Creative gift idea for a friend going through chemo.?

I would make her a video with everyone who loves, likes her wishing her well telling her jokes etc. Tapping things she may miss like parties etc.. and give them to her so as she can watch them at her leisure and always be remembered that she is loved you could do dairies for her

Donkey continued ?

The vet is still unsure of the reason for hair loss on the donk. I did go ahead and worm him and then delouse him with one treatment. Its been snowing here, so haven't been able to do more, will try tonight hopefully.

Has anyone had lice problems and how long did it take before you noticed improvement with hair growing back?

How many treatments of the dusting stuff did you use? The jar isn't really specific for how often you should treat them or if its a one time thing.

Donkey continued ?

I had an outbreak of ringworm a few years ago. Everyone got a few bald patches which cleared up quickly after dabbing with a bit of OTC anti-fungal cream I had on hand... except poor George, whom I believe STILL has compromised immunities from his sepsis as a newborn.

I must have bathed him a dozen times in antifungal shampoo, and I must have doused him with gallons of the solution from the vet, as well as SEVERAL tubes of AF cream for his face.

He looked like those hairless cats. My poor, hypoallergenic horse.

Have they ruled out fungus? I've missed the original question somehow.

Donkey continued ?

Didn't see the other post, but just read up on lice all over the net because I'm the one who checked out the Tyger Spotted jack who was full of lice.

Basically, the U of Nebraska had the best info online.

It said to do the treatments every two weeks to take care of the larvae. Also to treat with spray the entire area of the environment. So if it was in a stall, strip and spray everywhere.

I got the idea that three treatments should do it if you kept away reinfestation. The first two were absolute, the third for good measure.

Donkey continued ?

Apparently, what works on a horse, doesn't seem to work on a donk, but I understand that if you have a warm enough day that you can wet down all the winter woolies, one application of Asuntol should do the trick. Here is a link to a website that has it, although it doesn't mention donkeys, I know that lots of people use it on them and it works. Good luck.

Donkey continued ?

My vet said two... I did notice a difference in him itching and rubbing after the second dusting (two weeks apart).

We're where it's cold as hell too, I'm snowed under! :)

Donkey continued ?

Mule it took about a month to see a good reaction to my horses treatment(about every week and a half i would apply more)he slowly started to stop itching himself on everything around him including me and took about 6 weeks before his hair started to come in good.

I sell Lace front wigs in chicago I need inexpensive marketing ideas?

I have had extensive training in lace front wigs. I live in the city of Chicago. I carry premium Indian Remy human hair at affordable prices, I know that lace front wigs are great for people with hair loss due to alopecia, cancer treatments and old age. I also know they are popular among females wanting that diva celebrity look. How can I market to people wanting a chicago lace front wig !

I sell Lace front wigs in chicago I need inexpensive marketing ideas?

I would start by advertising on craigslist (free), and you maybe want to consider looking up some of the cancer treatment centers in your area, and talking to some of the doctors. Some may let you advertise, or leave flyers (cheap!) in their offices, as many of their patients may not even know where to turn to purchase good wigs.

Good luck!

Try Julian of blackhairplanet.com he's a pretty good marketing person. I think he did 2 sites in chicago. yourlacewigs.com and chicagolacefrontwigs.com

What is canine Chronic hypersensitivity dermatitis and what treatments are available?

My dog, Lady keeps having recurring outbreaks. The diagnosis was made by a lab from samples taken from the vet. Treatments with Prednisone 10mg have given some relief. After treatment Lady may stay cleared up for a couple of weeks but soon has a relapse. Of course with the treatments of Prednisone she inflates like a basketball and it causes her to be unable to control her bowel and bladder. Hair loss, and itching are prevalent prior to treatment. She has been on this current treatment at least 3 times but continues to have outbreaks.

What is canine Chronic hypersensitivity dermatitis and what treatments are available?

Skin conditions in dogs can be a real bear to combat. There are literally hundreds of factors that can contribute to generally itchy or unhealthy skin - things eaten, things breathed in, things layed upon... it's a very frustrating problem, and I understand your desperation with your dog's condition, as one of my greyhounds suffer some of the same problems.

This condition is often referred to as "atopy". In short, it's a predisposition to become allergic to normally innocuous substances, like pollens, molds, dust mites and other environmental allergens. It's estimated that only 3-12% of dogs have this condition.

I'm assuming the diagnosis was made via skin biospy performed at your vet's office. It's unusual that the lab or your vet wouldn't then try to identify the irritating agent more in depth - often times they run a series of allergy tests to determine what steps should be taken to avoid contact with said irritants. The condition is rarely in remission and cannot be cured; it's simply a matter of maintaining as healthy a state as possible.

Prednisone is the most common used form of controlling the discomfort associated with atopy, and sometimes you won't see a response for 3-6 months after starting, but if you're interested, there are some more natural methods that may help keep things under control. Sometimes, supplementing your dog's diet with essential fatty acids can help promote healthier skin and coat. Frequent bathing in shampoos labelled "antipruritic" can be beneficial. There's a great company based out of Wisconsin called Animals Apawthecary - they make a stellar formula called "Detox Blend" made specifically for chronic allergy sufferers that's manufactered with herbal remedies like burdock, dandelion, milk thistle and red clover.

Best of luck with your dog - I really commend your effort to become more educated and do the best you can for her. I hope this response wasn't too long!

That is doctor speak for a severe, ongoing, skin allergy.

It's more than likely caused by the food you are feeding her. Read the label, it should NOT contain: corn or wheat products, animal-by-products, or animal digest. If you can't pronounce every ingredient, consider changing brands.

Read "Foods Pets Die For" by Ann N. Martin for all the gruesome and shocking details.

Look into Innova EVO. That is getting rave reviews from allergic dog owners. California Natural (they have a skin and coat supplement that works wonders), Artemis, Canidae, and Wellness are really good too. Look them up on the internet.

You should consider a different vet. I think he is using big words to convince you that your dog needs treatments that she may not need.

Hi ! My 12yr. old Male dog has this same problem while the prednazone is helping my vet also recommed I Bathe him aleast Once a week with a moisterizing shampoo / Medicated also this has helped my Dog tremendously It's merely an allergy to something in the environment that they get as they get older not all dogs get this but there are the unlucky few just make sure after shampoo you rinse extremely well then a final rinse of cool water . OH! and follow the directions on the shampoo( you can get this from you vet.)
