My hair is starting to fall out?

Hi my hair is starting to fall out... and i've always had naturally thick hair. I bleached it paritally for over 2 years professionally and never noticed any problems other than ordinary hair loss. Then 2 years ago I struggled with an eating disorder also never really noticed too much hair loss. Just about 8 months ago my mother passed away i had been taking care of her in my home and my hairdresser died my blond hair brunette (again all professionally) and about 3-4 months later i noticed it falling out. Is this most likely caused by stress, dying or diet (i've gained weight back since those two years) I am now using Nixon scalp treatment is there anything else i can do to make sure i don't go bald?

My hair is starting to fall out?

ok, I might not be the best person to answer this, because im going thru the same situation. Not quite, but yeah. My husband uses Nixon, has been using it for about a month now and hes hair is growing back. But you have to make sure you use the Shampoo, Conditioner and the little spray, it can get pretty expensive, but is worth it, My hair is falling out because of the shampoo that I use (Pantene Pro-V)

My hair is starting to fall out?

I would say your hair loss is do to all the shock and trauma that you and your body have been put through over the past couple of years. But if you have any kinda of hair loss in your family you may be experiencing thinning because you have the genes for it. If the loss is infact from shock and trama your hair will come back but it can take anywhere up to a year for the hair to grow back.. if not the only thing they really have on the market for women is Rogaine for Women. Not sure how that works though.. unfortunatly the most successfully hair loss medicine is Propeca and is something that women can not take.

Wish you the best.. and don't worry.. it's just hair :)

My hair is starting to fall out?

eat less salt, and more sesame

My hair is starting to fall out?

An unbalanced diet, especially one without enough protein, can cause temporary hair loss. Women who are anemic often experience loss. Increased hair loss can occur with pregnancies, major surgery, or a major life event, such as a death or divorce. These causes are temporary and hair growth will return to normal eventually. But a product like Provillus it is an oral supplement, which works to block DHT, a form of testosterone that is responsible for 95 percent of hair loss. It also works to stimulate the scalp and bring dead follicles back to life.

My hair is starting to fall out?

Massage aloe Vera gel over the scalp, leave it for about one hour. After this rinse the hair with warm water. It gives excellent results for hair loss if one uses this massage at least 3-4 times a week. Check out

How have you responded to Hep c treatment?

I had a patient that had Interferon shots he is Hep c free .He did not loss his hair but he also got procrit shots to help him stay strong , ask your Dr. and see what he tell you good luck and keep strong .....

How have you responded to Hep c treatment?

Also, be watchful of your mood. Interferon often causes depression. Make sure you keep this in mind so it can be addressed if the problem arises.

Hair replacement options for a woman battling cancer?

i have recently been switched to another chemo drug and after years of treatment, i think this one will do the job of completely obliterating most or all the hair on my head.

since i don't want to live the rest of my life bald, i've been reading about medical hair replacement:

http://www.mayoclinic.org/hair-loss/inde...

my question is, has anyone else gone through the same or can offer constructive advice on what steps i can take? approx. cost comparison re. each type of treatment and which one seems to work the best w/ the most minimal bothersome effects?

only serious answers, please. after going through bald again, hair again - i can't take any more yo-yoing and being bald forever using bothersome wigs and hats are no longer a viable option.

thank you.

Do you have problems with hair transplants?

To resolve my hair loss issues I submitted myself to a new style of treatment. They use spider web string as transplants. It is very strong but I keep getting flies stuck in my hair now. I have this urge to eat them afterwards.

For my other regions they put a brillo pad now I seem to feel like washing my dishes with my pelvis and watching the movie American Pie.

Do you have problems with hair transplants?

It's better than having the spider web-hair in your 'other regions'.

I've heard of guys getting their flies stuck down there, but this is ridiculous.

Do you have problems with hair transplants?

lol

Do you have problems with hair transplants?

haha. tnx 4 the 2 points

Do you have problems with hair transplants?

This is an odd treatment... never heard about that

Do you have problems with hair transplants?

I THINK YOU SHOULD EAT THE FLIES

Hair Transplants.....?

As yet there is no permanent guaranteed way to replace hair loss.. suddenly donning a wig is ridiculous...most transplants look like dolls hair growth....yet some guys can get really self concious about their receding hair line.....

Question is.... do you think that removing the whole scalp and turning it round (so the back is at the front) will have better results than any other treatment yet available? and no its not a hair-brained question...to me it sounds a good idea...but what would be the consequences if any? Pony tail tickling yer nose....?

Hair Transplants.....?

eww, that sounds interesting humm...what about around the ear?? you would have massive side burns!!

Hair Transplants.....?

Maybe Elton John would finance the idea? Report It

Hair Transplants.....?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx... laf n'roll! xxxxxxxx Report It

Hair Transplants.....?

uho, she's here too. We couldn't be much closer, married. Wanna try it? Report It

Hair Transplants.....?

I think it would look obvious because your hair grows from the back toward the front. Even though we are not aware of it, if you turned the scalp around it would become noticable that it was done.

Hair Transplants.....?

Hair Transplant surgery has become very common now. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Many patients travel from United States of America and UK to get low cost surgery in India. Indian corporate hospitals are comparable to hospitals anywhere in the world. In fact, India has medical facilities that are comparable with the USA, UK and Canada. India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best medical experts. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest prices.

Hope this helps.

Good Idea you would end up with scars from stitching.

Seborrheic Dermatitis & thinning hair?

Hello,I think i may have seborrheic dermatits. My scalp has ben itching badly for a while now, even when i showered it would still itch, often with red patches, i beleive i've scratched so much ive started to make my hair thin =(, i started using Head%26amp; shoulders Intensive treatment, and it looks like its working, I was wondering,if this type of dermatitis can lead too hair loss? or not?

Seborrheic Dermatitis %26amp; thinning hair?

Seborrhoeic dermatitis is a skin disorder affecting the scalp, face and trunk causing scaly, flaky, itchy, red skin. It particularly affects the sebum-gland rich areas of skin. It is thought to be caused by a fungal infection caused by the yeast Malassezia furfur (formerly known as Pityrosporum ovale) in individuals with decreased immunity and increased sebum production. In a normally-functioning individual, the fungus thrives without incident, but in those afflicted with seborrhoeic dermatitis, the body's epidermis responds unfavorably to the infection, becoming inflamed and shedding large scales of skin in a failed attempt to rid itself of the fungus.

Treatments

The recommended treatment is ketoconazole creams and/or shampoos. Topical steroids should be reserved for acute flare-ups only as they may precipitate recurrences and dependence. Shampoos containing zinc pyrithione, selenium sulfide or coal tar may also help, as may lotions containing alpha-hydroxy acids. Some afflicted with the condition have also reported that an increased intake of Omega-3 fatty acids, usually fish oil, is effective in reducing the frequency and intensity of the symptoms' recurrence when combined with the traditional shampoos and creams, likely due to the anti-inflammatory effects of Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR浼?, antagonized by various Omega-3 fats.

Soap may precipitate a flare-up, and a soap-alternative should be used instead.

Seborrheic Dermatitis %26amp; thinning hair?

Please choose the above answer as the best so this question can close. Thank you.

For fungal infection of scalp, should i go for treatment to Dr Shahid Shamsher or allopathic treatme

I am sufferring from painful and sore scalp. specially in the crown part of the head. I loose upto 100 hair per day.I feel hair thinning out. I am very worried. I have started treatment from Dr. Shaid shamsher who diagonosed the problem as Fungal infection of scalp which will take 6 months to resolve. I have started treatment and see some improvement, but still loose about 80 hair per day so I am confused if i should consult an allopathic dermatologist, as allopathic treatments are faster. I have seen lotsa good comments about Dr shamsher on this group, so i would like to know that how soon the treatment starts showing good results and how much the hair loss is reduced ?

For fungal infection of scalp, should i go for treatment to Dr Shahid Shamsher or allopathic treatment ?

I have been on Dr Shahid Shamsher treatment for 3-4 months. He also told me i was having male baldiness and fungal infection in the head. In four months i can say that the fungal infection is almost cured and that the hair fall is hardly around 10 hairs while washing and around 5-10 hair while combing. When I had gone to meet him last time, I took my wife along as well, but he told her no need for any treatment as she is losing around 100-120 hairs which he was telling is normal for ladies to lose. So 80 hair fall for you is not too bad. Continue his treatment and I think you will be cured. Plus I think he uses a combination of various treatments like allopathic shampoos and herbal medicines etc. So the allopathic angle is already covered.

For fungal infection of scalp, should i go for treatment to Dr Shahid Shamsher or allopathic treatment ?

average person loses 100 - 200 hairs per day so that is normal. if you do have a scalp problem, i advise using shampoo's with TEA TREE oil in as tea tree is renowned for being anti fungal, anti bacterial, good for dandruff/greasy hair.

For fungal infection of scalp, should i go for treatment to Dr Shahid Shamsher or allopathic treatment ?

I went for treatment their also. Before that I had taken treatment every where from dr batras to mintop lotion to scalpe shampoo. You name it and I had tried it. Once I would stop the mintop treatment or the shampoo, the problem would again come back. What I have liked about the place is that the treatment is over in a fixed time period. For most patients he will give medicines for six months. My period got over one year ago, then he put me on some food things which I am taking every day and its is ok right now. The problem with allopathic treatments is that they will not cure from root and that way the treatments will never end.

For fungal infection of scalp, should i go for treatment to Dr Shahid Shamsher or allopathic treatment ?

I took Dr Shahid Shamsher treatment earlier. It was quite useful for controlling the hair fall, dandruff and itching on the head. But I dont know how good it is for growth, because for me he was advising to go for transplant.

What can I do about hair breakage?

I have medium texture african american hair. I have permanantly relaxing it for a long time. I have noticed that my hair is shorter in the back due to breakage, I gather. I know I have been stressed and possibly lacking some vitamins. Obviosly, those issues can be resolved almost instantly. However, I am at a loss about the management of my hair or what can I do to help the regrowth process? Should I perm? Should I wear hair extensions in the back? What hair treatment works best? What can I use or do to stop the breakage altogether? Etc!

I have already trimmed and cut my hair to a considerable length to even out the front with the back. (Still noticeable.)

Thanks in advance for the advice!

What can I do about hair breakage?

I had mine relaxed for 10 years, got tired of the roller coaster, got off, and came up with a better solution.

http://naturalblackhair.tumblr.com/

My story about my hair loss, starting over, and what I learned along the way can be found at: http://naturalblackhair.tumblr.com/

If you get another perm, the cycle will continue, but the breakage won't stop completely, as long as the relaxer is still there. You can't "strip" them either, as I've heard a lot of people say. The best anyone can do with a relaxer is minimize the damage, unfortunately.

If you get extensions, be careful of how they are put in, sewn, glue, ect., that can damage your hair and scalp as well. If left in too long, they might start to "lock."

I put tons of tips on the page link, and I hope that you find something there that can be of help to you.

-be encouraged

What can I do about hair breakage?

Your hair is probably too dry and brittle. If you are dying your hair, straightening it, or curling it with hot irons, stop, because that will do damage to your hair.

I know a shampoo that works really well for better hair, but I don't know if it will work on your hair, but it's best to give it a try. It's called 'Thermasilk' and it works best if you wash in hot water.

Someone I know has cirrhosis, why does their skin do this...?

She is in the last stage of cirrhosis and is taking treatment. Along with other things that are happening from the treatment (hair loss, etc), her skin is becoming very thin. When she scratches (and not hard), she bleeds. What are some ways to soothe the skin and make it not bleed or hurt? Or toughen up the skin? Thanks!

Someone I know has cirrhosis, why does their skin do this...?

That's rough. Liver disease kills. Just have her be very careful. Milk Thistle Tablets (1000mg) are great liver support and inexpensive. If she is in treatment have her ask her doctor. This is one reason elderly people have those blue and red marks on their arms.

Someone I know has cirrhosis, why does their skin do this...?

My mother passed away from a liver problem and had problems with her skin. We brought a good quality skin lotion to the hospital and made sure we applied it at least every four hours. Her skin itched.

Laser Hair Therapy experience?

I閳ユ獡 considering having the LHT treatments for my thinning hair and was wondering if anyone has any feedback or experience with this kind of technology? It does cost quite a bit, therefore I would like to hear different opinions from people who had it done or are experienced with that relatively new technology? Please let me know what kind of results (if any) should I expect also what are some good places to have it done (I live in the Chicago area)? And does it really stop the hair loss? Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Laser Hair Therapy experience?

Ask your regular doctor what he/she has heard about the results of laser hair therapy and if they recommend any specific location to do the hair therapy because they usually have the best contacts for those types of things. Once you find a place talk to the person performing the procedure and ask if they can answer your specific questions and if not either try to make an appointment to go through a consultation, ask if he/she has an informative packet to read over, or if there is a site where you can get your questions answered.

Rejuvenating hair follicle..?

Try using coconut oil in your hair every evening for two months. It has worked for people in the past. If it doesn't work for you then listen there are plenty of guys who are just shaving their hair off and they all look very handsome and are still getting married. It's about your personality and how you carry yourself. If you're really self conscious about your lack of hair it will show and that itself is a turn off. Guys should be confident. So you don't have hair...who cares? Just be confident and that itself is very sexy. You can still dress trendy have attractive accessories like glasses or whatever. Good luck and congratulations on your upcoming marriage.

Rejuvenating hair follicle..?

There are very good hair tonics available in ayurveda. Go to a very good ayurveda doctor and follow his advice.

But I've seen few people who took Dr.Batra's hair oil and medicines for suggested period got their hair follicle back.Consult some other doctor in Dr.Batra's clinic or some other branch.

I have tried so many, over the counters but none really work. I took supplements from pharmacy, anything...you name it, but they don't really work. However, you must maintain at least one type of supplement for hair and nail care, I am now taking silica solution and I went for treatment at Yunnam Haircare salon - I am from Malaysia, this one which uses ginseng to mask and massage the hair really works for me. I have been having hair problems since I was 17...I am now 44, but thank god, I am not bald yet. I am also using ginseng shampoo from the same salon.

However u can do this at home: try using hair tonic, find one that you like, make sure you massage your head every night for at least 10 minutes everytime u put on the tonic. just press your scalp using your finger tips at different points, it helps with blood circulation....well, hair has been my long time obsession.

Which treatments for thinning hair, receding hair or male pattern baldness REALLY work (or are they

Please answer only if you or someone close to you has had success with something. I'm getting the hairline of Bruce Willis or Alton Brown (science guy on Food Network). If anyone has comments specifically for my hair loss type, that would be great.

Which treatments for thinning hair, receding hair or male pattern baldness REALLY work (or are they all scams)

Rogan works...but once you stop you lose it...or you can have implants..that works...but very expensive and PAINFUL!!!!!

Which treatments for thinning hair, receding hair or male pattern baldness REALLY work (or are they all scams)

Sounds like male pattern baldness, if it is, you can try to regrow hair with a treatment like Nioxin, or Rogain. It most likely will not work, unless the hair follicles have clogged due to environment or hair products. Either way, I have seen hair regrow with a daily treatment of aloe vera (from the plant), applied to the balding areas every night before bed, then washed off in the morning.

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

Hi, I moved into US very recently. Currently i am in North East Pennsylvania. I don't know from the day one I am loosing at least 50 hairs daily. Is this because of the very cold weather or the water. Within a 3 months i feel like i became bold. Can someone please help me how can i control my hair loss. Is there any medicine or treatments ... I would really appreciate your help. thanks in advance.

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

1) The US has NOTHING!!!!!, to do with your hair loss so stop blaming my country!!!!

2) A healthy person generally loses up to 100 hairs per day weather you realize it or not.

3) Your hair loss could be genetic look at the males in your family are they bald? Your father especially.

4) Go to a Dr.

5) Go to wal-mart and get some rogane.

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

im not sure.. u need to go see a doctor.. it may not have anything to do with you moving here

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

It's the US... What'd you expect? =/

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

I don't think that your hair loss is connected to you moving. Maybe you are just starting to go bald. There are shampoos and other products that re-grow hair. Try rogaine.

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

you really need to talk to your doctor about this

it may be an environmental factor

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

that's just odd! and disturbing! lol

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

botox

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

the climate change probably had an effect. and moving to another country probably put you under some stress, which definitely affects your hair. use thickening shampoos and rogaine. good luck.

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

no ur ok. the average hair loss is like a 150 to 100 hairs a day.

so ur cool

Why people loose hair after coming to US?

HI THERE. THERE ARE LOTS OF FACTORS YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER WHY YOU LOOSE YOUR HAIR. MAYBE THE WATER THAT YOU USE FOR BATHING IS TOO STRONG. MAYBE YOUR SHAMPOO IS TOO STRONG, AND YOU NEED TO DILUTE IT MORE WITH WATER, AND YOU SHOULD USE A CONDITIONER. OR MAYBE YOU ARE TOO STRESSED OUT. ANYWAY, YOU CAN TAKE MULIVITAMINS, AND EAT A WELL BALANCED DIET. YOU CAN YOU THIS PALNT CALLED SABILA OR ALOE VERA, AND MASSAGE IT TO YOUR SCALP.

Laser hair removal causes premature balding?

I'm doing laser hair removal on my underarms for almost a year now and its working really good. Around this last year after I started my laser treatment for my underarms my hair on my head is starting to thin out. I happened to hear from someone that the hair loss maybe due to the fact that I'm doing laser treatment on my underarms. Does one has anything to do with the other? I'm getting the laser treatment done on my underarms and not on my head. If someone could shed some light into this matter I'd greatly appreciate it....I been really down these past few months because I used to have a full set of hair but its really been thinning recently...I'm a female and only 24 years old

Laser hair removal causes premature balding?

sounds more hormonal, the laser is taking out the hair follicle under your arm, if the laser goes to deep and messes up the Lymph node maybe,, but it should be that deep

My friends hair gets grasy after 1 day but is also very wirey can anbody help please?

The condition of a person's hair can be very indicative of their overall health.

If I were your friend I would be inclined to go get some blood tests done.

Namely FBC

U+E

LFT

TSH

Cholesterol LDH %26amp; LDL

Lipids.

This should reveal something.

My friends hair gets grasy after 1 day but is also very wirey can anbody help please?

Shampoo daily and use a light conditioner. Go for ones specifically for greasy hair. With shampoo and conditioner you really do get what you pay for. Avoid anything with an oil base too such as fructis.

My friends hair gets grasy after 1 day but is also very wirey can anbody help please?

try a shampoo with lemon in it as it is an astringent an with constant treatment will remove the build up of oil. Also when shampooing do not massage too much has this can cause the sebaceous gland(oil glands)to stimulate further causing more greasiness to the hair and scalp.Don't use too much conditioner as well being careful not to stimulate the scalp, possibly just use the conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends.

My hair has been the same length for years, i'm taking treatment from the dermatologist for hair loss but now i want to have my hair longer and fuller. what products are good for hair growth???

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

their an sampoo and conditionor called Mane %26amp; Tails (yeah its used for horses, but safe to use on humans) they actually have it in the shampoo ieals, also taking vitiams help hair grow faster and helps nails grow too. Also, you can use products when you get out of the shower like volumizer moose that will make you hair look fuller, tell your hair grows.

Also, massage you scalpt at night and when you brushing you hair flip it over a couple of times and a brush it flipped over

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

If you want a inexpensive way I have heard that prenatal vitamins help with making your hair grow faster.

I know when I had to take them my hair grew pretty fast.

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

There is no way to make your hair grow longer, but to just wait for it to grow out. just use products that suit your hair to keep it healthy so the ends dont split. Good luck.

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

I lost a lot of hair when I had my son and so I took Biotin. It worked like a charm! You can get it at any general store in the pill form.

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

there is a product called hair food its about $5 for the container is a vitamin and protein rich formula it is like a pal made you put it in an style as usually with it

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

Rosemary oil has helped my balding spot to fill. I rub a dab of rosemary and jojoba oil on my scalp weekly (you can do it more if you like) and I put a few dabs of the rosemary oil in my shampoo, conditioner and styling gel. Here is a good oil mix:

cedarwood (2 drops, 94 mg), lavender (3 drops, 108 mg), rosemary (3 drops, 114 mg) and thyme (2 drops, 88 mg) in a carrier oil mix of jojoba (3 mL) and grapeseed (20 mL).

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

Biotin has worked wonders for my hair. Make sure you are getting regular trims, eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water.

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

Pantene products (with amino acids) keep my hair long and silky.

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

MAIN AND TAIL IS NOT FOR HORSES it is used for humans hair and nails use that and your hair will grow believe me

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

I doubt there's any. You can take products for hair loss, but anything else won't work. You can only style it to look bigger.

The best option you have is extensions, they will lengthen and fill out your hair, just make sure the person doing them knows not to make it too tight because of your hair issues.

Treatment for Hair Growth

Hair loss has been a sensitive problem for men, since times immemorial. The two main causes of hair loss in men are genetics and hormonal imbalances. 95% of men suffer from androgenetic alopecia or male pattern hair loss. But now the scientists have found out that the major cause of hair loss is DHT (dihydrotestostrone)....

What products can i use to make my hair grow in length?

Forget all those that use those over the counter shampoo's you can get from the local grocery store. Use Nioxin, it is specially formulated to unclog the hair follicle and return the blood flow to the hair shaft. Most of the hair loss is because of waxy build up to the hair follicle. Nioxin is not cheap but you will be very pleased with it's results after about 6 months to 1 year. You can only get it from a reputable salon. It has no minoxidil so if you stop using your hair will not stop growing but I would recommend to stay on it if you have some hair loss. If you have to stop then I would recommend Something like Paul Mitchell products, I regard them as the best out there another would be Aquage products. They will actually clean the scalp and not leave the residue that is the main cause of hair loss.

Will I get my hair back after starting treatments for an overactive thyroid?

I am female and have excessive hair loss in the past few months. I was just diagnosed with an overactive thyroid. My question is, after I start treatments will I start getting back some of the hair that I've lost. Is there also any way I can regulate this without taking meds?

Will I get my hair back after starting treatments for an overactive thyroid?

There is no other way to regulate this. It will probably lead to having your tyroid removed. After treatment you should get your hair back. It just a temp. condition. good luck.

Where can I get a combination folligen and emu oil-based product to improve the condition of my hair

I am African-American and have chemically relaxed my hair with box treatments for years. I have noticed that I do not get the same results with my chemical relaxing that I once did in the past. My hair does not respond as readily to conditioning products that I once used and the relaxer does not last as long as it once did. I have heard a lot about the products folligen, I believe it is found in Minoxidil, and Emu oil as excellent products to restore damaged hair due to modern day styling techniques. I have not, however, seen much information on over-the-counter products containing them besides Minoxidil for hair loss and Super Strength Blue Emu Oil for joint and muscle pain. Are there any stores that carry these products like Walmart, Walgreen's, or GNC?

Where can I get a combination folligen and emu oil-based product to improve the condition of my hair?

I buy emu products off ebay, you can also use "aussie hair insurance - leave in conditioner " which contains aloe and castor oil, which is great for damamged hair, there are also things you can do at home like olive oil treatment twice a week, mayonaisse treatment, many and most oils are great for hair, even canola oil or vegetable oil, hope this helps !

Where can I get a combination folligen and emu oil-based product to improve the condition of my hair?

My hair is also relaxed %26amp; I've decided to give emu oil a shot myself. I just purchased the oil itself off ebay. Faintly smells like chicken.Extra virgin olive oil is excellent also. How are you applying your relaxers? No-lye relaxers are harder on the hair than lye relaxers %26amp; timing is very crucial w/ either type. If you've been using a no-lye relaxer I strongly recommend stretching your relaxer for about 8 weeks (so you'll have about 1" of new growth) %26amp; then ONLY touching up your roots w/ a lye relaxer. Be sure to base your scalp %26amp; try not to overprocess. You should never relax your entire head if a relaxer has been applied once before.Your hair right now could be overprocessed or underprocessed depending on how careful you are while self relaxing. Also your hair might be growing at a faster rate, that is why it may seem like you need another relaxer every time you turn around. If your hair is damaged %26amp; breaking I highly recommend Nexxus emergencee then following up w/ a moisturizing conditioner free of any proteins like nexxus humuctress, nectaress, or aphogee balancing moisturizer conditioner. You have to make sure that you follow up w/ a moisturizing conditioner w/ out protein otherwise your hair will be too hard from the protein %26amp; snap off. Don't be scared though because it will dramatically improve the condition of your hair %26amp; cut down on the breakage. If you're looking for something to make your hair grow faster I doubt anything will help you %26amp; I wouldn't recommend using minoxidil unless you seriously have thinning hair. Lot's of people have had success using a product called Shapley's MTG on their scalps. It is an equine product that has sulfur in it. I've tried it myself %26amp; it's alright, but it smells like bacon. If u decide to try it, be sure you don't have any in your hair the week of your relaxer because your scalp will burn. I hope that helps some in your hair journey. If you're trying to grow your hair long be VERY careful with it, keep it covered at night %26amp; try not to use heat styling tools more than 1x a week after you wash %26amp; be patient :) Good luck!

Where can I get a combination folligen and emu oil-based product to improve the condition of my hair?

i'm not sure. sry!!

Is their a website that has a non-bias test for hairloss treatments?

A lot of websites offer so called studies that compare the effects of all the hair loss treatments but they are acually just there to glorify their own treatments. is there any non-bias test results out there?

Is their a website that has a non-bias test for hairloss treatments?

Yep. The FDA has a site and the facts and so does the American Academy of Dermatolgy (aad.org), American Dermalogy Association, and The Board of Dermatology.

There are oral medications for men now besides topical treatments that actually work. The topicals stop working when you stop using them. Doctors are a good resource sometimes, but a dermatologist is better.

Good luck to you. Hope this helps.

WebMD is always a good resource for medical; The Cleveland Clinic is as well and so is the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).

FYI: Monoxidil is topical and is used by both men and women and finesteride is an oral med. that works only on male hormones to stop hairloss. Save your money and get a treatment that actually works and is approved by the FDA and AAD.

Is their a website that has a non-bias test for hairloss treatments?

Yes, email any dermatologist. ill tell you exactly what to do, as i just went through this. 1. Make an appointment with a dermatoligist, and get a biopsy to make sure it is male pattern hair loss and not anything else. 2. If it is get on propecia right away and do not stop taking it, trust me this stuff works, your hair will stop falling out and might regrow in some areas. 3. If what you lost really bothers you i recomend a transplant, dont go to bosely as they rip you off on grafts find a doctor in your area youll be suprised on what kind of deal you can get. basically if you see a regular doctor, dermatologist, or a transplant doctor tehy are all going to tell you to take the propecia wich i have been doing for a year and i noticed after 2 months after getting out of the shower my hair wasnt falling out anymore. good luck to you

Wich one is better revivogen or Minoxidil?

hey everybody,i've used minoxidil(Rogin)for like 2 years and the result is not that good to satisfy me and recently i've seen this Revivogen advertise and it seems to be a good product i just wanna know if any one used that product and how was the result?is it better that minoxidil or worse?and if it's minoxidil which company make the best minoxidil i mean Rogin or (i don't remember the name but it was an american product) and....if there's another hair loss treatment i would be glad to hear it.thank y'all

Wich one is better revivogen or Minoxidil?

Hi mate,

Minoxidil is minoxidil it just depends on the strength you are using. Minoxidil (Rogaine for the brand your using) should be discontinued after 6 months of use if you cannot see any signs of improvement. For your case, you mentioned that you have results but not that dramatic. This is because although minoxidil is excellent in controlling hair loss and a hair growth stimulant as well, it cannot block the DHT (Dihydrotestosterone )hormone that destroys hair follicles which eventually leads to hair loss.

I suggest you try combining minoxidil 5% with an anti-DHT product, e.g. propecia, revivogen or use enhanced minoxidil ( a few of these are minox w/ azelaic acid, minox w/ finasteride, minox w/ saw palmetto, Xandrox, etc). I am planning to combine 5% minoxidil foam (according to reviews the foam type is more effective than liquid minox) with revivogen and see the effects after a few months.

As for alternative hair loss treatments, there are a few claims that herbal products works, laser comb and a lot more. You can google it. However, the only 2 proven effective ones are minoxidil and finasteride. They're also both FDA approved.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Is it appropriate to Boycott Sponsors of TV and radio programming you disagree with?

Here is a list of current sponsors of Rush Limbaugh.

Since I vehemently disagree with his entire should I boycott these companies?

eharmony

Inverness Medical (maker of stresstabs)

Onstar

Sleep Number Bed

Home Office, parent company of The Neptune Society of Northern California

Oreck Upright Vacuum Cleaners

Smart %26amp; Final

Mid-West Life Insurance Company of Tennessee

Blue-Emu

Lumber Liquidators

Avacor (hair loss treatment)

Lazerguide庐 (golf instruction tool)

Mission Pharmacal Company

General Steel Metal Buildings

Life Quotes, Inc.

Select Comfort Corporation

Scottrade Inc

RegionalHelpWanted.com, Inc.

The Swap Shop

Pfizer Inc

Lending Tree

Tarrant Books

Stewart Enterprises

Is it appropriate to Boycott Sponsors of TV and radio programming you disagree with?

It is absolutely appropriate to boycott companies on those grounds. You have to ask yourself how many of those company's do you use products from and are you willing to do without those products. And by the way, protesting anything Rush Limbaugh has anything to do with is an excellent idea. Even a right-wing,conservative town like Sacramento couldn't handle Rush and had to get rid of him. Other than pure comedic value, and, boy is he funny, he has no redeeming qualities. Boycott away, I say!!

Is it appropriate to Boycott Sponsors of TV and radio programming you disagree with?

Yes, follow your beliefs and refuse to support the companies that violate them.

Is it appropriate to Boycott Sponsors of TV and radio programming you disagree with?

Right, a boycott of one. That'll shake them up!

Is it appropriate to Boycott Sponsors of TV and radio programming you disagree with?

Its the American way.

Is it appropriate to Boycott Sponsors of TV and radio programming you disagree with?

common sense says shop at the home depot but your heart says shop at ace hardware so no on the boy cot.

Is it appropriate to Boycott Sponsors of TV and radio programming you disagree with?

Yes it is.

I've boycotted a lot of sponsors and businesses that are following the politically correct immoral bunch that we have to fight every day.

Is it appropriate to Boycott Sponsors of TV and radio programming you disagree with?

My answer is yes and no. In 2000, Dr. Laura Schlessinger started a daytime talk show. But within six or seven months it was shut down by homosexual rights advocates who didn't like the fact the someone with such a decidedly anti-homosexual agenda was being allowed to have a TV show. Ergo, enough companies and corporations were persuaded not to buy advertising time on the show. In that sense the boycott was successful. Later some of her radio advertisers pulled out, and her show was completely banned in Canada by the CBC.

The only drawback to a boycott is when people start asking questions about what's so horrible about this TV or radio show that it needs to be banned, and therefore they become more interested in it.

How to beat boldness? I'm so stressed...?

How to beat boldness? I'm so stressed...?

I started losing my hair about 2 years ago at the tender age of 25 imagine my supprise. All my life I had long beautiful hair and then it started to fall out. After months of stressing and denying and trying to hide it I finally just said screw it and shaved my head completely with a mach 3 now I use the phantom but regardless I get more attention now from women than I ever did with hair. You tend to stick out and it gives you a chance to completely change who you are. My attitude changed when I started shaving my head mainly because hair was a big part of my life and after it went my attitude became much more laid back and not too concerned with the little things in life and women responded well to it.

Do products like Rogaine work?

And I don't mean just making your hair look thicker. Or just prolonging the inevitable baldness. I mean, are there any hair-loss treatment products out there that actually makes hair grow back and look good? :P I'm still pretty young, so I'm hoping there are.

Do products like Rogaine work?

Yes but when you stop using them the stop working, so you need to make a commitment.

Beat two eggs and add two tablespoons of water to it. Wet the hair and apply the egg mixture over the hair. Now massage your scalp and let the mixture on for ten minutes to fifteen minutes. Then rinse the hair with lukewarm water. This will keep both dandruff and hair fall problem away from you. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/

You could try Head and Shoulders or Selsum Blue (Neutrogena even has a product for dandruff I think)...

You might want to get you scalp looked at by a doctor, however, just to x-out the possibility that you might have eczema on your scalp.

How to stop dandruff caused by regain?

Lush do a couple of dandruff remidies, they are natural and usually work well.

There is the Snake Oil Massage Bar, which you massage into your scalp, then wash it off after a few minutes, which is quite good and i've heard it is quite sensitive too, if you're not sure they have customer reviews on their website,

And then there is the Soak 'n' Float Shampoo Bar, which is a solid anti-dandruff shampoo, it also works well.

and also if there is not a Lush store nearby, you can order off the website.

Hope this helps :)

Propecia vs Generic Propecia?

Propecia is #1 hair loss treatment drug which is also approved by FDA. Generic propecia is cheap and equally effective drug for hair loss as claimed by many pharmacies. Can anyone tell me the difference between propecia and generic propecia and where to but these hair loss treatment drugs?

Propecia vs Generic Propecia?

Brand-name drugs are generally given patent protection for 20 years from the date of submission of the patent. This provides protection for the innovator who laid out the initial costs (including research, development, and marketing expenses) to develop the new drug. However, when the patent expires, other drug companies can introduce competitive generic versions, but only after they have been thoroughly tested by the manufacturer and approved by the FDA.

A generic drug is a copy that is the same as a brand-name drug in dosage, safety, strength, how it is taken, quality, performance and intended use.

FDA requires that all drugs be safe and effective. Since generics use the same active ingredients and are shown to work the same way in the body, they have the same risks and benefits as their brand-name counterparts.

Generic Propecia is a smart way to get the benefits of the brand drug Propecia at a low price range. It is a cost effective way to achieve healthy hair re-growth.

Generic Propecia constitutes the same active ingredient Finasteride, and has the similar course of action that is of reducing the formation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the scalp, facilitating hair re-gtrowth. Generic Propecia is available at: http://www.onlinepharmacyrx.org/index.ph...

Propecia vs Generic Propecia?

They are chemically the same thing. One is marketed, the other is not.

Propecia vs Generic Propecia?

Before you start using the either one, you need to check the side effects of both. If I can remember some of the side effects are different. Not sure though.

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

or any topical treatments

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

there may be many herbal or topi.. treatments as you say.. but i suggest dont go for them cos they include a long procedure + u can understand its herbal so the treatments can rip u apart.... if u dont mind can i ask ur age.. so according to it u can use The daily Reputed shampoos which are available in the mkt.. like Pantene or Fiama Hair fall control.. these look normal one' s but they do work out well... i hv an experience with the pantene hair fall control 100/400ml. bottle use that for 10dayz if ur hair problem isn't severe or use it extensively for a month. u'll find results at ur snap.. all the best.. n good luck.. :) hv a nice day

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

Hi i dont think there is, i think you need to visit your GP. good luck

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

Olive Oil Thearpy, ht oil treatment with plastic bag over your hair 30 minutes once a week..

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

Have you ever tried Nioxin products? Find a salon or spa in your area that uses Nioxin and have one of the trained stylists help you in determining what would be the best treatment route for you. Nioxin won't make your hair grow back, but it can greatly help slow hair loss. And that minty smell and tingle is soooooo great!

As for herbal supplements, I've seen some out there but I'm betting they're mostly a waste of money - better to try an all-natural multivitamin to be healthy all over.

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

Olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil. U can use seperately or mix them to get more use of it. Warm it a little and apply on ur hair doing some massage with ur finger tips. Leave for 2 hrs then wash ur hair. It's healthy for the skin too spcly elbows, knees and ankles.

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

Nix all the replies and yes there is. You can try Biotin this is some of what hair is made of and can help if the loss is not hereditary, or from illness. You should see a Dermatologist for diagnosis. If that is okay try Provilus for men, (they have a women's version too) which I use. It has helped me. It comes with a minoxidil topical to apply %26amp; a capsule to take. Otherwise you can massage your scalp and take vitamins that have hair nutrients in them. Hope this helps.

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

Robin, I haven't heard of any. Just the usual wash it in or rub in it.

Are there any herbal suppleents to stop or slow hair loss?

Massage aloe Vera gel over the scalp, leave it for about one hour. After this rinse the hair with warm water. It gives excellent results for hair loss if one uses this massage at least 3-4 times a week. Check out

Hypothyroidism and hair loss: is there a way to stop hair loss associated with Hashimoto's dise

what do you think is the best brand of thyroid medication--no 'health/herb' treatments please. My case is too severe for that.

Hypothyroidism and hair loss: is there a way to stop hair loss associated with Hashimoto's disease? Also,?

I agree with you that herbal and nutritional treatments are a waste of money. Hypothyroidism is a hormone based immune system disease requiring medical care--it is not just "stress!" When I read your question, I was hoping you might get some helpful answers since I have the same problem.

I've tried a variety of shampoos, conditioners, herbal, and other nutritional mumbo-jumbo, to no avail.

I'm assuming that you, like me, eat a healthy diet. I hope you get an answer that gives more information than just a link to yet another hebal . . site.

Don't you wish people would read your question before giving answers you don't want?

Hypothyroidism and hair loss: is there a way to stop hair loss associated with Hashimoto's disease? Also,?

Healthy looking hair is a reflection of essential nutrients and proper hair care. Hair is made up of layers of protein called keratin. Hair depends on adequate protein and nutrients to maintain its shine and luster. Stress can deplete the body of necessary vitamins that keep hair looking healthy. Stress can also be a factor in hair loss.

Are the hair relaxers used in salons safe?

I have an appointment for a hair relaxer treatment. And the consultant at the salon said it was mild and it would not cause damage to my hair. Is it safe? I already have some hair loss. So I am worried.

Are the hair relaxers used in salons safe?

What type of doctor should I see about hair loss?

Does anyone visit doctor and get good result? What is their suggestion and treatment?

What type of doctor should I see about hair loss?

I'd probably go to my family doctor first %26amp; get a referral.

What type of doctor should I see about hair loss?

At first, you could try visit a dermatologist or endocrinologist. Most of the times, hair-loss treatment is not permanently successful. There are special shampoos you can use, but they can only delimit or temporarily stop hair loss. If you stop using them, hair loss will probably go on. But I am not a doctor, you should consult one of the above types of doctors.

What type of doctor should I see about hair loss?

Endocrinologist. They specialize in hormones and the body's' glands that produce hormones, along with other glands in the body. If certain hormones are elevated/decreased they can affect hair growth/hair loss. Until certain tests are done, their suggestion/treatment will vary from person to person. However, you should check with your primary Doc so that he/she can rule out any underlying physical problem. I hope that this helps.

My guinea pig has 6 spots of hair loss ranging in size from 1/4 to 1 inch. I'm not sure what is

I have done some research on this, and it seems they can get fungal infections, parasites or bacterial infections. She is not scratching and does not have any redness, swelling, bite marks, drainage, or any visible worms or fleas. Our vet is treating her for a bacterial infection, but I am not convinced this is the proper treatment. Any suggestions?

My guinea pig has 6 spots of hair loss ranging in size from 1/4 to 1 inch. I'm not sure what is causing it.

Guinea pigs must have green leafy vegetables or they will start looking horrible like you are describing. Do you feed her fresh spinach? Talk to the vet about some diet changes to see if that will help.

My guinea pig has 6 spots of hair loss ranging in size from 1/4 to 1 inch. I'm not sure what is causing it.

she probably is getting old and loosing hair.. its possible :)

My guinea pig has 6 spots of hair loss ranging in size from 1/4 to 1 inch. I'm not sure what is causing it.

My guinea pig had the exact same thing so my vet gave me a specail shampoo to wash him in. Within a week the hair was back and had no trouble since.

My guinea pig has 6 spots of hair loss ranging in size from 1/4 to 1 inch. I'm not sure what is causing it.

it sounds more like a diet or fungal problem then bacterial.

Try browsing the guinea pig books at the book store or library or finding a reliable guinea pig site on the internet.

If the pig is in with another one, it may be a grooming problem from the other pig.

I want to ask a very important Q about my HAIR LOSS (baldness) which is as under :?

I am a 28 year old male and I am losing hair from the top of my head so that I can easily notice the baldness coming with a mirror. I am very much concerned about it and need URGENT help for it. I have read about two medicines, one is Regaine Extra Strength (solution) which contains minoxidil, and the other medicine is Finasteride which are oral tablets. I want to ask if anyone has ever used it for the same purpose and the affects of it or if anyone else knows any other remedies for baldness other than treatments shown in ads. PLZ HELP !!!

I want to ask a very important Q about my HAIR LOSS (baldness) which is as under :?

Topical minoxidil and oral finasteride are the only two treatments currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration [USA] for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia. Both of these medications prevent further hair loss but are only able to partially reverse the baldness. Both require continuous use to maintain effectives. As effectiveness may take 6-12 months to become apparent, these agents should be used for at least 1 year before deciding whether to continue treatment.

Please check the source link below for additional information. And by the way, a worthwhile mate won't worry about your hair. Unless it ends up on someone else's collar...!

I know it works for some and I think it is worth a try

I want to ask a very important Q about my HAIR LOSS (baldness) which is as under :?

Chicks don't care if your bald are not they just care if you have enough of a soul left to suck the life out of so just shave it off and pray to god you find out your gay you freak.

I want to ask a very important Q about my HAIR LOSS (baldness) which is as under :?

Don't waste your money... Only thing that works with those store bought remadies is the hot girl behind the counter sellin that crap.

I want to ask a very important Q about my HAIR LOSS (baldness) which is as under :?

I am not familiar with Finasteride, but I know a little of Rogaine(minoxidil), it usually works well in the early stages of balding however once you begin using and hair starts to regrow, you must continue use if you stop your new hair growth will come out also. I know there are many new topical solutions out there that are suppose to be better than Rogaine now. You may want to check into them before starting on an oral tablet re: side effects and all

I want to ask a very important Q about my HAIR LOSS (baldness) which is as under :?

i don't really know of any treatments, but seriously, baldness is sexy. i'm 26 and definitely find that attractive when it is coupled with confidence and manliness :) work it!

I want to ask a very important Q about my HAIR LOSS (baldness) which is as under :?

Go talk with a doctor.

But I advise you live with it. It's not the end of the world - or even the beginning of the end.

I want to ask a very important Q about my HAIR LOSS (baldness) which is as under :?

I'm balding too, my friend. I'm 38 though. I started losing my hair at 17. I had a friend who used Rogaine. It made a difference but it really wasn't what he wanted. His hair grew thicker everywhere he wasn't bald and only mild new growth where he was bald. In other words, it worked but it didn't work well. He also developed the worst case of dandruff I have ever seen.

I hated watching him go through this because I was actually considering trying Rogaine. Because of what it did to his hair and scalp I decided against it.

There is no cure for baldness. You are going to lose your hair, anyway. Even the best treatments are risky, because you have to take medications that messes with the natural balance of chemicals in your body. Or you have to go get the rag-doll plugs. Baldness is no big deal. Whether or not you have hair should not define you. Just because your bald doesn't mean people won't find you attractive. It just means your bald.

Good luck friend and balding is OK.

My dog has developed hair loss/wtih pinpoint red dots on her back. She seems healthy and happy other

She was at the vet, at couple of months ago, with a clean bill of health. She, Lucky is an outside dog. She is bathed weekly and receives flea and tick treatment regularly. Any clues?

My dog has developed hair loss/wtih pinpoint red dots on her back. She seems healthy and happy otherwise.?

my friends dog had hair loss issues, it turned out to be a food allergy, to chicken.

Talk to your vet. They can help you.

My dog has developed hair loss/wtih pinpoint red dots on her back. She seems healthy and happy otherwise.?

I would talk to your vet.

It could be an allergy to one of the treatments that you give her for fleas. Some chemicals like that in Hartz products are very harsh. I dont recomend using them. So you may want to try something different.

She could also have some skin mites. That can easily be treated with ointment.

Have her checked out.

My dog has developed hair loss/wtih pinpoint red dots on her back. She seems healthy and happy otherwise.?

mange', take her back too the vet

My dog has developed hair loss/wtih pinpoint red dots on her back. She seems healthy and happy otherwise.?

My cats have this going on. I took them to the vet and it turned out that they both had ring worm and the one also developed allergies. Is your dog itching alot? She might not have this problem but if she does then it could be easily treated. The vet gave me some medicated shampoo to bath them with 2x a week for 4 weeks. She said that it will also help with the allergies too. But if it doesn't completely clear up then she could give him a cortisone shot for the allergies. She also told me that I could give him benedryl. But there could be a number of things wrong like allergies...ring worm...mange...ect. Also, what type of dog shampoo are you using? This could be irritating her skin. But I am not a vet. I would deffinitely get her back into the vet asap. Hope it's nothing serious, good luck!

My dog has developed hair loss/wtih pinpoint red dots on her back. She seems healthy and happy otherwise.?

Its prolly HOT SPOTS - like a light heat rash for dogs - its nothing serious but you need to get her to the vet and get some antibiotics and cream .... healthy dogs get this all the time - like healthy humans get a heat rash. Hope all goes well

My dog has developed hair loss/wtih pinpoint red dots on her back. She seems healthy and happy otherwise.?

It may be an allergy. Or it could be dry irritated skin and she is chewing at it which aggrivates it. I have a dalmatian who used to lose hair in patches do to some dry skin. I started giving her fish oil, in her food ( could tell a difference in about three days not kidding) and now she looks great.

Can hair loss due to mold exposure be reversed?

Can a hairdresser address this, scalp treatment or even accupuncture?

Can hair loss due to mold exposure be reversed?

Does mold exposure cause hair loss???? I'm glad I read your post because I didn't know that and have extensive mold exposure over about 3 years time...

I know the mold can make you sick but I didn't know about the hair loss... I would think though, that the hair loss would be merely a symptomatic problem and not something permanent...

You could possibly Google it OR go to the site I have listed below. It's a free website done by docs and you can find any info on there you'd need...

Good luck!

Hair loss .vlcc is good/?

vlcc seems to be the only reliable one.

I think u can safely go for it................

Hair loss .vlcc is good/?

Try frist the ntural products if didn't work well , you can ask your docotr about it because may be VLCC not good treatment for hair...I was the same but I start cut inch of my hair each 2 months and make caster olive oil bath for my hair ( natural oils) each week made my hair strenth and healthy anyway try this mix the oils warm i messages the scalp of the hair very gently and apply on the hair till wet the hair wear cap set under the big hair dryer you find it in beauty salon wash the hair and let it dry naturally,,it works with me whe I do that because the caster oil knwoing that helps hair be thick and grow well.

with Good Diet and eat more Proteins , beans to help build aminoses for the roots of the hair to help it grow .

Good luck.

Hair loss .vlcc is good/?

There are a no. of factors that decide whether a person will lose hair or not. The most important are...

1. Mental state of a person - happy people have better hair growth. Keep her happy. Pamper her and make her feel loved and beautiful.

2. Physical lifestyle - Make sure she exercises regularly, has healthy food and lives in a clean environ. Yoga is the best option for exercise (only if done under supervision under a qualified instructor). If Yoga insctr. is not at hand, try brisk walking for a month proceeded by jogging etc.

{Remember that standing in kitchen from sunrise to late night and house work is not exercise. It is abuse and wearing out of the body.}

3. Diet - No extra oily stuff, no spicy stuff, no junk food. Fresh veggies and fruits only.

Try above three for 1 month(with sincerety) and see the difference. You won't need any treatment for ur wife.

Very imp.:

a.Make sure that she uses no harsh shampoos and conditioners for hair.

b.Never comb or brush hair when it is wet.

c.Never rub hair vigourously with towel when wet, wrap the towel on the head for a while and let it absorb the water.

d.Never use too much hair dryer or hair dryer at very hot setting. If she feels her head warm while drying hair, the hair dryer is too hot. Keep min. 8 inch dist. betwn. hair dryer and head if absolutely necessary to use. Suggest use only towel. e.Apply hair oil if it is dry and brittle(only if dandruff and lice free and if scalp has no skin probs.) I suggest any good coconut oil.

Try Ayurveda home remedies like Reetha, Amla, etc. Buy a good Ayurveda book and U'll know what I'm tryin to tell you.

Hit the root cause of the problem for the best solution and u wont need to waste money on expensive quick fixes. They don't give permanent solution anyway cause they only get rid of the symptoms, the don't cure the root problem.

I promise you that if you guys sincerely follow the above mentioned advice, u will be greatly benefited.

All the best.

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

My wife (27 years old) has always struggled with weight and has a problem with facial hair around her neckline. Up to this point she always thought the hair was due to the medication Dylantin she is on to control seizures. We also work out 5 times a week and eat fairly healthy but she has not been able to lose the weight like I am....by all means she should be losing a lot more weight for as much as we work out. Today she told me again about her polycystic ovaries and that got me thinking.....could this have anything to do with her other symptons? So after doing my own research on the net I found that almost every symptom she has could be due to this condition. No doctor has ever mentioned it to her because I think they all assume her weight and facial hair is due to her not working out and taking the Dylantin. If she was to go on a hormanal treatments....could this possibly allow her to start losing weight, as well as start controlling the facial hair along her neckline? Thank

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

In my education opinion..it sounds like there's a good chance she has PCOS. If she has polycystic ovaries, is overweight (and has a hard time losing it), and facial hair...those are 3 indicative symptoms of PCOS. If she has some of the other symtpoms too...then she might not even have to go through blood tests and all to start treatment. Here's some basic info about PCOS.

I recommend seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. They are generally more knowledgeable about PCOS and the correct treatment. Unfortunately, many doctors are not aware of the proper treatment.

The underlying cause of PCOS is insulin resistance (IR). The best treatment for PCOS is going on an insulin sensitizing drug such as metformin (1500-2550mg per day) combined with a low carb diet and exercise. There are a few important things to know:

1. Many women "pass" the test for IR, but still respond positively from the metformin. No one knows exactlly why..my thought is that the test is not a sure fire way of detecting the IR.

2. You must be on a high enough dose of metformin. I've heard women complain that their bodies dont start working even though they've been on metformin for awhile. Some doctors are hesitant to up the dose past 1500mg...but for some of us it takes more. I don't respond until my dose is around 2000mg a day.

3. It can take a few months on the correct dose, before your body is regulated.

4. It is important to treat your PCOS even if you are not trying to get pregnant. There are higher risks for many things (high blood pressure, blood clots, diabetes, and many other things) when you have PCOS, but if it is treated properly, then those risks are lowered.

When the PCOS is treated properly, all of your symptoms may not disappear, but they should improve some. It will also be a lot easier to lose weight (and keep it off). Our bodies work against us when we try to lose weight on our own, making it nearly impossible to lose weight.

There are TONS of books about PCOS and dieting. There are two that I recommend. Here's the links at amazon for those:

I also recommend a couple web sites:

http://pcos.itgo.com/

http://www.inciid.org/faq.php?cat=infert...

http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhp... This one is a great message board where you can ask all your PCOS questions or just chat with the women who are also dealing with PCOS. Good luck.

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

LADIES, NEVER SHAVE YOUR FACE.

Your hair will grow stronger and darker, you will end up stubble and this is NOT something you want to deal with. Talk to your doctor. Report It

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

i believe yes it would.. and has she had her tyroid checked.. that can also be issue with her not losing weight

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

As doctor to check to write her a lab order to check her TSH levels. SHe could have an underactive thyroid.

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

I also have pcos. Has she ever actually been diagnosed with pcos because you mentioned the polycystic ovaries? With the exercise you all are doing and the hormone meds it is very possible she could lose the weight and also the excess hair, but she needs to be diagnosed first so that they know how to treat her, she either needs a second opinion or find a doctor that knows about pcos. If she stays with her current doctor she may need to get aggressive and take charge and get them to help her, I had to do that in order to get treatment. Sorry I am coming on strong but some of these doctors are something else.

I am so glad your willing to help your wife, as a women with pcos I see a lot of women out through on support boards who has lack of spousal support and don't want to understand. If you want more information email me and I will point you to some wonderful support sites that can help you and her and maybe answer more of your questions in the process because there is a lot you need to learn about pcos in order to help keep your wife healthy. It is a tough road to ride sometimes.

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

YES, definately. I have POS and have had facial hair problems and wt problems etc....long before I myself started on Dylantin. Although one of Dylantin's side effects is an increase in facial hair, so it is a little bit of a double whammy!

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

I too have PCOS. There is nothing they can do about the hair growth that is already growing. They can give her a diabetic medication that will help with her symptons but I found that it made me want to eat more and I gained more weight. There is not a hormone that can be given to her unless she has a thyroid test and it comes back abnormal. As for the hair on her face it will start to grow in other places like around her nipples. They can also give her a cream that will reduce the growth of the hair but it is expensive. She can have electrolices (hair removal) but that too can be expensive. Blood work can determine if she has this or not by seeing the amount of testrone (male hormone) she produces. There is not really much that can be done which really sucks.

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

It sounds like PCOS. Get her checked out and don't forget the thyroid test. That could keep her from losing weight.

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

If her doctors never mentioned it to her, then how does she know she has it???

Self diagnosis is not good. And if a Dr. told her she has it, then Yes! That's all the info right there.

I wouldn't hormone treatments. Unless you consider the BC pill hormone treatments. My dr. uses the pill as a way to control my PCOS and it works. Still working on losing weight, but the main thing with PCOS is to have a regular period.

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

bring this to the doctors attention. good research! i would say that it's a good chance she could have PCOS and should be tested. there is treatment for it. best of luck!

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

i think her thyroid glands should be checked

PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome/weight/facial hair loss?

If she has PCOS she can get treatment for some of the issues which result from PCOS but as far as the hair growth is concerned, any treatment is only temporary and doesn't affect the fact that she will always have the tendency towards male-type hair growth, especially on the face. The best answer is to get her a really good men's type electric shaver -- I suggest a Norelco -- and encourage her to shave daily.
