Some chemo's don't cause hair loss. To be honest I wouldn't think that hair loss wasn't the biggest side effect. The nausea and malaise can be much worse.

Lots of different treatments now, and depends on the chemicals used.

Some do not cause hair-loss.

Also, there are ways of slowing it down if you have it.

Think you may need a site other than this one if you are going to get the treatment.

Unfortunatly, not that I know of. When my father was diagnosed with cancer he lost all of his hair when treated with chemo. When my aunt was diagnosed with cancer she lost all of her hair. When my friend's brother was diagnosed with cancer, chemo unfortunatly made him lose all of his hair too. I have never met a chemo treated person that has not lost their hair. But believe me, if they survive, loosing hair is not a bad trade.

The chemo protocol (Temodar and Irinotecan) that my son is on right now does not cause hair loss, nor did the last session. There are about hundred or more different types of chemotherapy, some cause hair loss, some do not depending upon the person. My son did lose his hair from HD-VAC %26amp; Ifosimide and Etoposide about a year and a half ago.
