Someone I know has cirrhosis, why does their skin do this...?

She is in the last stage of cirrhosis and is taking treatment. Along with other things that are happening from the treatment (hair loss, etc), her skin is becoming very thin. When she scratches (and not hard), she bleeds. What are some ways to soothe the skin and make it not bleed or hurt? Or toughen up the skin? Thanks!

That's rough. Liver disease kills. Just have her be very careful. Milk Thistle Tablets (1000mg) are great liver support and inexpensive. If she is in treatment have her ask her doctor. This is one reason elderly people have those blue and red marks on their arms.

My mother passed away from a liver problem and had problems with her skin. We brought a good quality skin lotion to the hospital and made sure we applied it at least every four hours. Her skin itched.
