My guinea pig has 6 spots of hair loss ranging in size from 1/4 to 1 inch. I'm not sure what is

I have done some research on this, and it seems they can get fungal infections, parasites or bacterial infections. She is not scratching and does not have any redness, swelling, bite marks, drainage, or any visible worms or fleas. Our vet is treating her for a bacterial infection, but I am not convinced this is the proper treatment. Any suggestions?

Guinea pigs must have green leafy vegetables or they will start looking horrible like you are describing. Do you feed her fresh spinach? Talk to the vet about some diet changes to see if that will help.

My guinea pig had the exact same thing so my vet gave me a specail shampoo to wash him in. Within a week the hair was back and had no trouble since.

it sounds more like a diet or fungal problem then bacterial.

Try browsing the guinea pig books at the book store or library or finding a reliable guinea pig site on the internet.

If the pig is in with another one, it may be a grooming problem from the other pig.
