Slight hair loss, most effective way to minimize it? Tablets vs Appliances?

I'm 22 and I have been experience a slight thinning around the edges of my hairline for a few years now, although I feel this started early (when i was 18/19) it hasnt been as rapid as I thought, might I add i'm a skeptic to hair loss solutions etc, anyway question is, what would you recommend as the more effective/successful treatment? I'm not expecting any astonishing results/improvements, moreso something that has a higher % chance in maintaining/working on keeping the hair your currently have, and what do you think about tablets vs appliances? Would tablets be 'healthier' for your hair than an appliance, or the same? Also! if I use a liquid-like appliance, How/when should I apply it? I was inclined to go with tablets because it wouldnt mean my hair being sticky in the mornings, but I'm aware i'd have to probably consult a doctor for that first, many thanks to anyone who can provide some advice! For what its worth, I was considering this http://tinyurl.com/28azcc - yes or no?

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

Drugs and hair loss?

At age 36 I took Danazol to treat Endometriosis for 8 months and noticed significant thinning of my hair at the front. Even after stopping the drug I continued to notice more hair loss. Has anyone else had this experience? If so is there any effective treatment?

Drugs and hair loss?

I checked a couple of places online and Danazol is supposed to cause unwanted hair growth, not hair loss. Maybe you should check with your doctor. Of course, hair loss in women is completely normal, although rarely talked about the way that it is with men.

Can I recommend a WebMD search on the subject. After that, take it to a real doctor, though. I am sure that they can help you much more than I can.

Hair loss OMG!?

im suffering from hair loss. it occurs in patches i guess. parts on my scalp only suffers from the hair fall. not all, but as i have observed it seems to to spreading. i used to have short hair cuts(im a guy) but now of the increasing sized of the patches i have no choice but to let it grow to cover the patches. im using a topical steroid for this problem but i dont think its working for me now. plus the adverse side effects ruins my day to day activities. (i stopped using) -,- so probably non medical treatment i should rely on. anyway, does mane and tail works or is good for sensitive hair? every time i wash my hair may hair falls off, it even falls when im just brushing my hair with my hand. and also is soap okay when used in the scalp? or like a substitute for shampoo? i need help. what are my options.

thanks

Hair loss OMG!?

dont worry! im here now, lol. no, but this happened to my brother. he has an overactive thyroid gland and he loses his hair. its nothing serious its just how your body reacts and you get meds and then you're fine. however you might want to see a doctor. a dermotologist to be exact. my brother sees one once a month for his hair. they inject a substance in the scalp so...it might hurt a little but it gets the job done! in weeks you would see instant results! his hair grew back so fast. and i dont think its very expensive either. well good luck and i hope your hair grows back!

Hair loss OMG!?

Go on...

Shave it all off !!

Hair loss OMG!?

Have you had your thyroid (lipids) checked?

Hair loss OMG!?

Have yourself tested for heavy metal body burden. The most efficient and cost effective test that I know about is a 24 hour urine test with a DMPS iv push. You will want to pay attention to the lead and thallium content of the results.

Hair loss OMG!?

Reduce your total stress load in 6 key areas

Thoughts - Stop stinkin thinkin, be positive.

Breathing - Learn to breath prop, search for yogic breathing online etc.

Hydration - Drink adequote clean (not tap) water each day.

Nutrition - Eat organic wherever possible and ensure you get adequote protein for your diet.

Exercise - Quality not quantity

Sleep - 10pm till 6.30pm every night in a pitch black room with no electrical sources near your bed.

If you make improvements in all these areas your condition will begin to improve.

Hair loss OMG!?

See a doctor to make sure there is not a medical reason for this that could be treated. If not, consider shaving it bald. Bald can be very sexy.

My hair is fallin out do to major weight loss!HELP....only if u realy no!?

I lost 40 pounds on phentermine and it ruined my fingernails. Take 閳ユ藩kin, Hair, and Nails閳?vitamins and eat more protein. Take kelp and fish oil. It will take a long time, though. I閳ユ獫e been off the diet pills for maybe 8 months and my nails are still not as good as they used to be.

My hair is fallin out do to major weight loss!HELP....only if u realy no!?

Hair usually only falls out only when ur old or anorexic. I'm 13....I don't know why yours is......sorry my answer is bad..just ignore this....lol....

My hair is fallin out do to major weight loss!HELP....only if u realy no!?

Those weight loss pills ,make you lose your hair thats one of the side effects. You need to consult a doctor . ASAP.

My hair is fallin out do to major weight loss!HELP....only if u realy no!?

Honey, are you sure it is weight loss? I don't mean to scare you, but that is not usually a sign of weightloss. I would really suggest talking to your parents and seeing a doctor, there really is no pill to make your hair grow back. You may see the occasional hair growth acceleration treatments, you may try one of those. That really is not a symptom of weightloss though.

My hair is fallin out do to major weight loss!HELP....only if u realy no!?

why dont you eat

My hair is fallin out do to major weight loss!HELP....only if u realy no!?

sounds like you're not getting the vitamins and nutrition you need. try to get at least a multivitamin, actually prenatal vitamins would be best for your hair and you can get these over the counter at any drug store. as far as what to eat, add some jello. the keratin will be great for your hair and fingernails too.

since you say major weight loss, i betcha you are now malnourished. you'll need to get this turned around soon. you will probably quit growing taller and could develop heart problems from lack of nutrients.

My hair is fallin out do to major weight loss!HELP....only if u realy no!?

You should really see your doctor. You could have a serious vitamin deficiency.

My hair is fallin out do to major weight loss!HELP....only if u realy no!?

You really need to see a doctor! I am no rocket scientist but it is not normal to lose your hair because of weight loss! There could be something seriously wrong with you, and it's better safe than sorry! If I were you I would talk to my parents right away!!!

I'm 18. I want to begin taking care of my hair to avoid hair loss from NOW, any tips?

I'm 18, on my dad's side, hair loss is very common, on my mothers side, not so much. I want to prevent hair loss and i want to begin now! what shampoos, or treatment or anything do u recommend??? My brother's 30 and he's has lost a lot of hair! (he's not as bald as my dad tho') THANKS

I'm 18. I want to begin taking care of my hair to avoid hair loss from NOW, any tips?

I dunno, I am a girl and my hair is thinning too... I need tips as well!!

I'm 18. I want to begin taking care of my hair to avoid hair loss from NOW, any tips?

Good news. Hair loss is inherited from both parents. And hair loss is *very* common on just about every girls' dad's side. But since all girls have dads and not all girls lose their hair, we can only conclude that just because your dads' folks lost their hair, it doesn't mean you will.

Nobody can tell the future, but there is stuff you can do now to protect your locks.....

1. Use Kiss My Face organic shampoo. $8. Order online or at an organic products store. It doesn't contain any sulfates. Ammonium Lauryl and Ammonium Laureth sulfates are emulsifiers.....they make shampoo foam and pull off grease. Unfortunately, these chemicals are a little rough on the hair follicles. I've read some reports from folks who say they lose less hairs in the shower when they avoid sulfates. (Baby shampoo is a good 2nd choice...but it tends to leave build-up in my hair. So you could use baby shampoo then use a clarifying shampoo every now and then).

2. Don't smoke. Smoking *multiplies* your changes of losing hair prematurely by causing blood vessels to constrict and reducing scalp circulation.

3. Take a multivitamin. Especially make sure you get enough Vit. B12, protein, and Omega 3 fatty acids. (Don't worry--you won't get fat!)

4. Relax. Stress really can cause hair loss.

5. I dunno if this is true--but I read eating lots of stuff with refined starches (white bread, cookies, cake) isn't good for hair production...........

Of course, none of these things can change your genetics. But they will help prevent other kinds of hair loss. Like everyone else on the planet--male and female--, there is a *chance* you could start losing significant amounts of hair when you get older. IF that happens (and I'm not saying it will), I recommend Rogaine. Yes, its cliche, but it is not just a hoax. The results are already encouraging. Besides, with any luck, there will be new treatments to come out in the future. (I think Sweden made progress with laser treatment earlier in the year....)

I'm 18. I want to begin taking care of my hair to avoid hair loss from NOW, any tips?

Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

Chemicals, Drugs, Rogaine庐, Transplants ?

All those unnatural ways to grow hair with harsh chemicals and by plugging in hair transplants are earning huge corporations billions of dollars and doctors hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

Why would they be foolish enough to promote something that would cost you less than $15 in grocery store stuff that can help to stop hair loss and regrow lost hair ? On top of that, they can鈥檛 make any money off of you from return visits or forcing you to buy their stuff every month for the rest of your life !

Rogaine庐 will set you back $40 a month, about $500 a year 鈥?for life. A hair transplant will cost around $10,000 or so. And the worst thing about them is that if they don鈥檛 work you don鈥檛 get your money back.

My husband is experiencing hair loss ,it`s genatic do u know about biofiber transplant?

I think it`s an italian product,he is thinking about it.

but for me i prefer treatment as he didn`t reach a bad stage ,he`s in the early stage (as the doc told him) and he`s 30 yrs,do u happen to experience the same thing ?what did u do ? did u have treatment or it`ll not do as it`s agenatic hair loss?please help me

My husband is experiencing hair loss ,it`s genatic do u know about biofiber transplant?

For right now, I would suggest that he keep his hair neat and short. (Don't try to compensate for hair loss by allowing long strands of hair to be combed over the bald spot.)

Most of the time, bald (or balding men) have a lot of body hair. Tell him to leave his shirt unbottoned a bit and to wear short sleaved shirts. Accentuate the positive. People's attention will be more drawn to his hairiness than the loss of hair he is experiencing on his head.

But yes, since your husband is young, if he wants to investigate hair transplantation and such, I suggest you both look into that possibility now. He might also try an over-the-counter-product called Rogaine.

Good luck to both of you.

My husband is experiencing hair loss ,it`s genatic do u know about biofiber transplant?

It's not like there is anything wrong with him that needs to be corrected with medical intervention. So what, he's losing hair. Tell him it's sexy.

My husband is experiencing hair loss ,it`s genatic do u know about biofiber transplant?

there are some medicine that he can take to grow hair

however, it is all part of the genetics just like some guys are tall, some are short so there are some methods that can restore hair, he has to understand that it is all part of a natural process
